It’s actually a shame that GM didn’t offer a Cadillac version of the A-body. With the J-body Cimarron covering the BMW 3-series/Mercedes 190E segment, an A-body Caddy would have been a credible threat to the 5-series/W124.

According to everyone, the worst car the year I was born was the 1977 Dodge Aspen/Plymouth Volare. Those (and 1976 MY cars) were “the most recalled vehicles in history” up to that point until the GM X-cars hit the scene in 1980.

Exactly this!!!!  He would be #4 with just the single movie Gone in Sixty Seconds.   I am absolutely gobsmacked that this was not included in the list.

By that same logic, one could state that cars built without passive safety (airbags, automatic seatbelts, etc) could be considered to have a “safety defect” and should all be recalled and retrofitted with airbags.
