LW#1: leave these people alone. Either they will or will not work out their drama but you don’t need to be involved. Find something on Netflix.

There are questions in this life that you just don’t ever need the answers to. Some things, you just have to accept.

Yes, and I found it to be absolute complete bullshit. It did nothing for me but support my already disordered eating patterns. If it worked for you, that’s amazing and congratulations, but it did NOT work for me and no doctor I’ve ever had would recommend it.

Isn’t that just a tiny bit disingenuous? If they’re truly interested in “health” (which: THEY ARE NOT) wouldn’t their programming focus on a more sustainable way of eating? Of course it would. But it’s a business, first and foremost. WW cares about MAKING MONEY, and could not give less of a fuck if it’s customers are

My main motivation right now is “I paid a stupid amount of cash for this.” Once I’m through the 6-month comprehensive thing (nutrition and fitness combined) and into a regularly-priced (lol) situation, it might be easier to talk myself out of going. I think it will be a pretty firmly ingrained routine by then, though.

Pistol squats are THE LITERAL DEVIL. I can barely do them with a bench to land on!

DING DING DING!!!! We have a winner!

Goes without saying! I’m not gonna lie, but the stereotype I described fits at least 10 of my acquaintances perfectly. The suburbs are a trip.

Moms of at least three kids who drive gold Honda Odyssey minivans, are more excited about Disney trips than their kids are, who think Rachael Ray is a “pretty good cook and Ohmygosh I just loooooove her talk show,” who join - but do not lead - the PTA, and who call margaritas “margies.”
That is the target demographic.

Because it’s still in business. All of the information they give you is readily available - so why aren’t more people following it and losing weight? Because it doesn’t bloody work, that’s why. If you’re paying for it and following the program and it’s working for you NOW, that’s great, but what happens when you

Whatever works for you for whatever your goals are!!

This is exactly my stance. If OPRAH, with all her cash and opportunities can’t get it done, then wellllll maybe it just can’t be done (for the most part)? I know there *are* people who can do it and keep the weight off and all that, but...

THIS RIGHT HERE.

Weight Watchers is the biggest scam of all time. If their ever-changing programs were even REMOTELY as successful as they claim they can be, they’d put themselves out of business.

Oh for fuck’s sake. He could have rented a car and driven back to New York in less than 8 hours.

Yep. The valedictorian from my class took all “general” classes instead of the stupid AP class load that some of us took and got himself a 4.0 (curse you, non-weighted GPA!!!). Whereas others took a heavy academic load and maybe had a 3.8 instead. There are myriad ways to game the system, and that’s just one of them.

Exactly! I’m buying sneakers for an 11-year-old!

It’s the political equivalent of “thoughts and prayers.” I thought and I prayed and NOTHING HAPPENED. What gives?

At the rate they’re going, they’ll be able to fill a whole season of DWTS, Survivor, and The Amazing Race with ex-appointees.

And everything in Australia is SO BITEY.
