The ones in The Day After scared the shit out of me in the 80s and still look pretty cool.

Movie is already said to be a two parter so that should alleviate any overstuffedness... hopefully

The first one was such a glorious surprise (to me). One my favorite films that year, and I was so glad it won its Oscar. (It should’ve been in the running for Best Picture, period, but it’s pretty satisfying when the Academy gets part of it right, anyway.) — and the performances were all terrific.

I’m concerned they might be trying to do too much in this movie buuuut I'm still more excited about this than I've been about any other superhero movie in the past 3 years.

Kubrick filmed the moon landing, but was such a perfectionist he had it shot on location.

Just so long as we still can’t hear any dialogue in his film.

You already lost me with “origin story.” Superman has one of the most well-worn superhero origin stories out there. I can understand wanting an origin for lesser-known characters, but Superman, Batman, and Spiderman all have origins we really don’t need to see again.

I’m very much a fan of Henry Cavill, and he’s done a nice job as Supes, but as a character, Superman is crushingly boring. There’s very little to connect with, when you’re telling stories about an omnipotent god-man (unless, of course, you’re Zach Snyder). Every story has to include kryptonite or another alien,

Stupid sexy Colonel Sanders.

If fate gives you the opportunity to morph into sexy Colonel Sanders, you damn well seize it.

Unless it’s in her contract that she can’t take a picture that accidentally exposes a script page, who cares how much she’s getting paid? It’s not her JOB to prevent spoiler babies from having stupid tantrums. Did she violate her NDA? If you believe she did, sue. Otherwise everyone shut up.

Hell, they could’ve kept Pine. You can weave some pretty interesting stuff into a story if this guy who looks identical to her lost love suddenly appears in her life nearly a century later; you can touch on metaphysical concepts, what it means to love and to move on, the value of a memory and its place in our

The first act was pretty good, the second act where she was doing WW1 things was fucking awesome and probably should’ve been the entire movie (and made me crave, which is rare, a live-action WW1/WW2 superhero team-up movie like early JSA and/or Cap/Namor/Original Torch). And then Act 3 swooped in and it was just so

Even if the movie itself is lacking, the praise for him IN the movie is pretty universal. So... Yeah. Comeback.

1. That’s not a tough question.

I mean, she knew him for like a week, totally makes sense that she’d pine for him (no pun intended) for the next 7+ decades. Even Rose moved on after she kicked Jack off that door in Titanic.

imagine going from the heights of ‘we are making a 70 million dollar franchse film’ to ‘sorry, your movie is so bad we are deleting it and it will never be finished or seen, because we want to recoup the money through taxes’.

People are too fixated on the use of the word “traumatic,” I think it could be traumatizing to be publicly humiliated and rejected on such a large stage. The Batgirl cancellation will be mentioned in their obituaries, as that’s likely to be an all-time famous unreleased film along the lines of The Day the Clown Cried.

I’ve lived long enough to see Muppets Fanfic.
