“Sydney, what’s the psychological basis for gambling?”
“Sex.”
“Really?”
“It’s what they told me to say. Sex is why we drink, sex is why we gamble, sex is why we give birth.”
“Thank you, Doctor.”
“I’m taking a five-dollar chip. That was a house call.”

Hard to argue with the picks for Hawkeye and Margaret - though another one I love for Hawkeye is Bottle Fatigue. (Sticky Wicket is one of my favorite early Hawkeye episodes because it’s the first time they really challenge his massive ego and paint him as actually being flawed.)

This show will always be TV comfort food for me. My parents had on the reruns, but as an adult, I understand a lot more of the drama and emotion. My favorite of the non-main cast characters was Sidney Freedman. The empathy and subtle humor he brought in was so welcome.

For those who didn’t live through that era, the show was everywhere in syndication. At one time in the early 80s, on channel 5 in DC, it was shown 24 times per week: four times per weekday (late morning, 7-8 pm, 11 pm), and two times on Sat and Sun (11-12 pm).

Wait, are you saying there was something AfterMASH? A sequel series featuring our favorite cast members from the 4077th who weren't sick of acting on the parent show? Surely no self-respecting network would air something like that.

Most people don’t know East coast/New England people’s spoke in a Mid-Atlantic accent all the way up to WWII. Sadly, because most of the teachers who taught that way of speech died in WWII, Mid-Atlantic speech declined thereafter.

I was pleasantly surprised that they brought in the bad-match dates to help her win the case. I wasn’t expecting that call-back. And though, yes, the fashion/LA/spoof/commentary was hit and miss I had three lightbulbs go off for me this episode:

I’ve enjoyed this show immensely, but alas after last week any episode that is Maydisinn-free is automatically subpar. She needs her own show where the MCU happens around her.

You’re probably spot on. I don’t think act breaks are actually necessary, at least in some shows, but they’re probably so ingrained in the way we watch television that without them the pacing feels off. Especially with a show like this, that as you say is much more typical of an network show. That’s why the episodes

Perhaps this show isn’t for you.

You’re missing nothing, I’ve just had a long day and wasn’t thinking straight. Ignore.

Looks like it’s gonna be hard to top the season high of scene stealing Madisynn.

I think my issue with streaming shows like this is that with no commercial breaks, there’s no “act” breaks. This feels the most like a TV show than all the other MCU shows so far, but it also at times feels like a stream of stuff rather than a definable story.

I think there’s some merit to the complaint that it looks off. My biggest problem is that Jen never really seems to look like she’s looking at the right place, even when she’s ostensibly looking at us. But on the other hand, suck it up losers, we’ve been in the uncanny valley for two decades now. We’re not going to

I thought this episode was hilarious. That “You don’t like Avongers? We’ve got Avingers” line is like peak Futurama quality. I remain mystified by people who aren’t able to key into the humor of the series. It’s more laugh out loud funny than a lot of sitcoms I’ve seen. It wouldn’t stand against anything truly great,

...then you’ve probably remember to enjoy life.

My own observations:
* I could go for more Pug/Nikki team-ups; they work well together and not in a “will-they/won’t-they” sense.

This casting is outrageous.   I cannot believe that in our progressive times, Disney has the audacity to cast a human in a role playing a mermaid.   It is truly unfair and quite frankly a slap in the face to all of the mermaid actors out there struggling in the business, being forced to wear prosthetics and take roles

Fuck live action remakes of animated Disney movies and fuck racist assholes who get mad when a character isn’t portrayed by a white person.
