“Especially since she’ll be reunited with her Black Widow co-star David Harbour, with Kevin Feige calling “the demented father-daughter relationship between Red Guardian and Yelena…obviously one of the best parts of the MCU.””
It’s actually one of the things I love about British actors: they take the job seriously, but they’re also serious about the fact that it’s a job first and foremost. Want Olivia Colman or Ian McKellan or (notoriously) Michael Caine to show up and lend your bullshit production a completely unearned air of gravitas?…
I didn’t think Black Widow was that bad honestly. I think most of the negativity for it came because it was a prequel of a character a lot of fans thought was given the shaft already. Plus it was a weird starter for the next phase.
When Black Widow came out, I felt like everything about it was overshadowed by the Scarlett Johansson lawsuit, and so Yelena didn’t quite became the beloved fan-favorite she should’ve been. Fortunately, we got more of her in Hawkeye, and the appreciation for her has grown.
Bucky’s unfiltered hatred of John Walker was one of the best parts of the tv series.
Interesting that they aren’t confirming Tim Roth.
Indiana Jones and the Incontinence of Doom
I hope it’s a fitting send-off for the character, I really do. Maybe they should have ended it with Last Crusade, but they didn’t; so give Ford and Indy a better goodbye than poor Han got. I’m rooting for this movie to be good, damn it.
Guy’s stood next to John Hodgeman, Lauren Mayberry, and Bruce Willis. That’s a solid standing-next-to resume, right there.
when you could just say that Donny kidnapped and endangered a woman (and clearly others too) without her consent?
Kinda surprised at all the haters here. Then again the AVC commentariat has really gone down the shitter in recent years. Maybe I should stick to io9 for these reviews.
As a slight correction Madisynn doesn’t get portaled directly to Kamar-Taj she gets portaled to another dimension where she makes a deal with a demon that she won’t talk about to get back to Earth via Kamar-Taj.
I actually liked this one! I agree with the reviewer about Madisynn. She starts off a little eye-rolling, but strangely becomes more endearing as she continues to appear. There’s more to her than meets the eye, because the way she rolls with everything makes her good-natured, and, as a result, she’s ‘fun’ in a way I…
American Imperialism hater here: I don’t need a character in a situational comedy to qualify every statement without hating imperialism.
I’m not a republican, and you can thank republicans for that.
Because, right now, I’d imagine DCAU is keeping its fucking head down and trying, begging, praying not to be noticed by any of the errant dickslips from Discovery.
Just put Greg Weisman in charge. He’s already trying to cram an entire DC universe worth of storylines into Young Justice. He probably has enough ideas for like 20 movies already.
