I think of Anne of Green Gables the way I think of Little Women. There are so many stories within the books that she won’t have to create new content, but maybe include content that wasn’t shown in the 1985 stories.

It’s funny you say that. That book has been inspiring to me, but the way she talks about books is where I get off the bus. Take my clothes, take my gadgets, take (many of) my mementos, but all my books do spark joy in my heart and you will pry them out of my cold, dead hands!
It would be awesome if Megan could play Mirilla now. It would be like Patty Duke going on to play Anne Sullivan after she got older after playing Hellen Keller as a kid. Megan might still be a little young, but that’s what stage make-up is for...
I learned it was fake...right now. Shows how realistic I thought it was. As a readhead, my hair has grown darker as I got older and I always tell people that I got the hair that Anne always wanted. Her quote I believe, “A nice handsome auburn.”
The Blue Castle is one of my favourite books, and it has a lot of fascinating subtext. Independence, autonomy, rejection of social mores, romance, wish-fulfilment ... it has it all.
Seriously! New adventures are not needed just give us the later ones done properly.
that boat-sinking scene is gonna be so metal
That book (House of Dreams) is surprisingly DARK.
You really think it was that bad? That's my color! I didn't even know it was fake till I was older & saw her at Stratford.
As a red headed Canadian, agreed wholeheartedly.
And honestly what’s to add? There’s like eight or nine books and they take the story all the way through to Rilla’s growing up.
And Richard Farnsworth as Cuthbert and Mirilla played by Coleen Dewhurst were also perfect. I want to grow old to be Cuthbert.
Lord you sound like my mother she pushed all things Anne on me from a young age lol we still re watch the whole series at least once a year
Second that please! I adore Rilla of Ingleside.
ME. TOO. I cried when my family visited PEI when I was sixteen. I’m so excited and SO SCARED.
I just want to say that I think it's really cool that you're from PEI.
OMFG yasssss.
It makes me nervous when they say they are adding to the story. I’m here on and from Prince Edward Island, and we take our Anne quite seriously. Sometimes.
I will say 100 percent of the reason i will have children is so that I can have small people to watch 8 hours of Anne of Green Gables with every year and sob.
I’d love to see some of the later books - esp Rilla of Ingleside which was fascinating to read while studying World War 1.
