My mom got herself a pottery wheel for her 50th birthday. She’s seventy now, and her pottery is amazing. I told her I was impressed with something she did the other day and she was like, “it better be good! I’ve been doing this for twenty years!” and that taught me everything I need to know about aging. 

Lots of people have pottery wheels and don’t have kilns. You can rent space in a kiln at art schools, in pottery teachers’ home kilns, etc.
