I’m a fan of cruises. I think I’ve gone on 4 with various companies. Both with and without kids.

Isn’t that due to wiring, an electrical issue?
I didn’t say collision.
A valid concern, though there certainly are plenty of cases where that happens with ICE. But ICE fires you have a decent chance of putting out yourself at least. I have a pair of walloping big fire extinguishers in my garage - but you might as well piss on an EV fire for all the good that would do you.
I think the bigger concern is where the fires start. I only assume it’s pretty rare and ICE car bursts into flame while parked in a garage unattended, but that is where it’s more likely that an EV will catch fire and take your house with it.
It’s all fine and good that EVs catch on fire at a lower rate then ICE cars. As they should, because the EV fleet is extremely young vs. the ICE fleet with an average age of something like 14 years now. BUT, they are a HELL of a lot harder to put out when they do go up, and that is kind of a big deal.
Fair enough. Besides the ex-husband’s actions, divorces can wreak havoc on finances.
No, it doesn’t. As I said, it’s a little bumpier than normal and there is a bit of rumble from the air over the speed brakes, but other than the very beginning nose over and faster than usual deceleration for the descent, it doesn’t really make much difference, once established in the descent, it’s all the same.
Ok airline pilot here. Depressurizations happen, not super common but anything can break. We have procedures for this, I have done this once actually. We perform whats called an Emergency descent. It’s an emergency procedure that requires getting down to a safe altitude as quickly as possible, this is a unpressurized…
Deliberately misleading clickbait titles? On Jalopnik?! You don’t say
Did the plane “drop” 25,000 feet as the title suggests, or did the plane simply descend 25,000 feet to equalize the cabin pressure, as the actual article suggests?
Cause the title reads like the plane lost pressure and immediately dropped 25,000 feet....which would result in some serious injuries, if not deaths, I…
And why is it being sold? I’ll put my money on the rock-hard suspension and how the owner is fed up with it. The cachet of being a Black just isn’t enough for the owner to keep it so let someone else have the “fun” of having their fillings knocked out while driving it. That’s my bet.
Bottas? Why? He races and brings the car home in one piece.
Counterpoint: his father really doesn’t like him.
I started to go through this point by point, but CarPlay and (physical) buttons will be better and far safer for me in virtually every case. Remains to see how much of this and how much will be on chip and how much will be cloud-based. amyy default assumption is that VW will be using this to train their systems on my…
WTF does a car need ChatGPT?
Nice too bad it will be close to $50K when all is done. Those wheels on the blue one look like flowers and belong on a Beetle. And oh, no one with taste wants illuminated head badges.
I’m just going to head you off right there.
Trying not to lose my head over this story.
Sad story. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves with brainy puns.
