I think they still do versions that don't have Diptheria and Pertussis, but I think generally the standard these days is to offer the DTaP (for example, in the ER if you're there with a laceration). The last time I got mine was at the ER and they gave me a little card with the info on it. Tetanus lasts about 10 years,

That's great to hear! The ones I know (those graduating in the last 7 years in my geographic area) unfortunately do not :(

Maybe the people I know are good at it? Also maybe the people I know get harped on me since this is my field? No clue. But if you go to the ER with lacerations they usually ask when the last time you had it was and give it to you, in my experience. That's how I got my last DTaP.

They bundle it with tetanus boosters now (DTaP vaccine). People are pretty good about getting a tetanus booster (no one wants lock jaw!) but no one remembers pertussis until they're thinking about having kids.

Just an aside, we don't do smallpox vaccines in the U.S. anymore (not sure where you're from) except for military personnel, since it was eradicated. Your dad was right in that the rate of bad reactions for that particular vaccine was relatively high compared to most others.

Other than idiocy?

I have a PhD, but you can work in a lab that does Immunology or Microbiology as a technician with a Bachelor's (preferably in bio or chemistry). We also usually have undergrads working in the lab, so you can get a feel for it beforehand. There are also pharma positions available that deal with immuno/micro projects

I'm in Cali. And a scientist! I await our future snarky, smart, old lady house with glee! :)

I'm an Immunologist, and I live in the Bay Area (the height of this fucking idiocy). I get so. fucking. PISSED. about this. I'm making boyfriend and I get TDaP boosters, even though I still have 2 years till I need a Tetanus boost because If I get whooping cough (or potentially kids around me get it) I will flip the

Pet insurance doesn't cover a lot of things. When our dog had cataract surgery, it wouldn't have been covered since he was born with it therefore it's a pre-exisiting condition. I've looked into it many times and the benefits have never outweighed the costs for us.

We had our dog's cataract surgery done on the east coast. Pet health insurance wouldn't have covered it as most cataracts in dogs are inborn and therefore pre-existing conditions (our dog was about 3 when he had the surgery). We have never had insurance on our too, but there's always brochures at the vet's office.

Our dog had cataract surgery done on one eye. Most cataracts in dogs actually happen when they're younger and are inborn issues; he developed his when he was only 3. We took him to a dog ophthalmologist who really thought surgery was the best option; if cataracts develop too long it can lead to painful glaucoma and

A good yoga top with a supportive shelf bra is my go to leisure wear. Bally makes nice ones. I agree though; mine are too large to be completely comfortable without some support.

I have but I should probably get fitted again because that was a long time ago, and I am certainly a different size now (I have adjusted accordingly based on what I think but what the hell do I know). I did just get a new bra too that is much more comfortable than my others that I've been wearing a lot and I have less

Truer words have never been uttered.

ME TOO. Alternatively I will only hang out with people who I don't care if they see me braless or in a yoga top with a good shelf bra. Preferably in my house. Dear god, I'm a hermit.

Samesies. Second I'm home, bra comes off. How the fuck does this woman manage this level of discomfort 23/24ths of her life?

I just scrolled down to look for one. I have reached a shitty level of apathy regarding any awful news. My brother (Army Reserve) just was told that he ISN'T getting deployed to Afghanistan, after being told for almost a year he was going, so that's a relief. Now I'm selfishly hoping we don't step up involvement here

Being touched by strangers is the only thing worse than talking to them.

I need a lot of chemical intervention to attain sleep on the plane, but I have severe anxiety issues so it's the only way for me to go. 2 large beers at the airport bar and an ambien and I am comatose for 6+ blissful hours. Leave us alone, talkers.
