Haha, so YOU’RE that person restaurants are cooking for when they serve me food that is so salty I nearly gag. ;-) (I do love salt, but I prefer a little salt on my food to a little food in my salt.)

Amen. J. J. is on the verge of repeating his gaff with Star Trek: Into Darkness. Just stop. Heed some sage advice from Walter Sobchak and...

So I’m guessing at some point the main characters are going to be staring down the recently captured monster in its cell when it slams its face into the glass and yells, “My name is Cloverfield!”

Either that or, you know, when during the climax of the movie she was put into the same damn tank that gave Movie Deadpool his powers by putting him under stress, she also experienced stress and unlocked mutant potential.

I always thought that a Nick Cage Big Daddy movie would be much more interesting than Kick-Ass.

That’s pretty much what I didn’t like about Wanted. There is just so much contempt for the medium and the readership that Millar goes out of his way to directly insult the readers by the end of the story.

Yeah, but did you hear what Meryl said last week?

Spike on Buffy really nailed the Yoko/Beatles thing: “the band broke itself up. She just happened to be there.”

I think this is a good analysis, and is well illustrated by how, at a basic level, the Millar protagonists all sought power and suffered for the sake of getting it, while Wade never sought power, it was just a byproduct of not wanting to die.

Oddly enough, the part of Kick Ass Miller was responsible for, the comic, had the main character become a superhero out of a need for attention and punished rather than rewarded by the plot. Big Daddy was just some shlub who kidnapped his kid to live out his own fantasies, and chose the mob family to make the villains

It’s Star Wars. The Force moved through him. I’m totally OK with that.

Because people who have sat in a place of privilege see the possibility of losing that advantage as oppression. But they don’t want other people to think they are assholes. See also I’m “humanist” not feminist.

Because for a long time, there has been a perception that black lives matter less. It might be more accurate to say, “Black Lives Matter just as much as anyone else’s and we’re tired of people acting as if they don’t”, but that's kind of long.

Because it completely disregards the message of the statement which is saying that the status quo suggests that black lives do NOT matter and that other lives do. It’s not to say that “all lives matter” is a bad sentiment (clearly it is not)... but if you want to shine a spotlight on mistreatment... you need to

This. This also applies to you #bluelivesmatter d*cks too. Cops have always mattered.

... a warm and inviting cheese experience for your guest ...

A customer at my first job (Subway) once asked me what race I was (race in French sounds much harsher than in English) and I said “Poodle, and you?” with a straight face. 16 year old me gave no f***s.
