“I dunno, maybe this is my British heritage shining through, but some kind of...line?”
“hypothetical money”
Because in conservative societies, crimes against companies are taken more seriously than crimes against people.
Notch is a below average programmer who lucked into one good game idea, the video game equivalent of a one hit wonder. Lucas at least created two beloved franchises, and had a direct hand in making two well-liked films in one of those two franchises. That’s more than most filmmakers will accomplish.
Indeed. I am not much of Minecraft fan, but Microsoft have done more rights with the property over the years than what Notch would have ever done.
There’s a joke by RedLetterMedia that “George Lucas is the luckiest guy in the world after Ringo Starr” given the success to quality/percentage of input ratio but fuck me does Notch have both of them beat at this point with how his basically copying soneone else’s game (Infiniminer, which died in the crib after its…
Just a bunch of low-tier dudes waiting for their ship to come in, through margin-flipping children’s cards instead of self-reflection, work and clever thinking.
Nah. Working a dead end job doesn’t make you like this. Everyone’s got to make money to eat and you take what you can get sometimes. This is just more greed fueled idiocy from trend chasers hoping to make some easy money.
Seems like the same thing is happening with certain retro games as well. I’ve been using pricecharting.com to keep track of my collection and values of some of my games just keep going up and up.
For real though. Every scalper I’ve seen at my local Walmart looks exactly like this. White dudes in their 20s-early 30s, baseball caps, and most likely working in some field of construction.
Ehhhh. These scalpers are kind of different than the ones scalping ps5's and xboxes. These people are pathetic because they’re snatching up new releases where the money is really in old releases. There’s a chase card or two but the majority are less than 10-15 dollars a card, at the release window. Is it sad that kids…
Honestly? look at them. They’re lame white boys wearing basketball shorts and baseball caps. Not a goddamn one of them has a chance of having sex with anyone and has the small-time, small-dick energy of the average dead-end job worker. No possible discernable talents besides “knows when card vendors deliver product”…
Walmart can't do that, they used all their locked up aisles for products primarily purchased by black people. They aren't really subtle.
I have a friend who used to do a lot of scalping many many years ago as a way to get some extra cash in college. It was the early 2000s so he was mostly just taking advantage of weird early internet selling practices.
I asked him about the current insanity going on in the scalping world and he said its crazier than it…
Big deal, every round of Street Fighter I’ve ever won was by accident.
Man, why’d we have to lose someone like Iwata but we still have to deal with Bobby Kotick?
I only poke my head into the Epic Games Store maybe once a week, just to claim the free game. I haven’t played any of them of course, but I figure it doesn’t hurt to have a stash of several dozen free games on hand (some of them pretty good titles too!) in case of an emergency.
Good old late stage capitalism, where “growth” is the only goal, money doesn’t matter, and everyone dresses like a 1990s Tom Hanks romcom character.
Lot of people on here salty because they don’t have an Apple product and can’t play this, then using “Wah I wanna play it” as a reason why Sakaguchi shouldn’t have taken a big paycheck to make a platform-exclusive product.
