Slippi doesn’t even enter into it really, US copyright law is pretty clear that hosting a tournament or streaming a game is a public performance which is an exclusive right of the copyright holder. Nintendo can legally shut down any public tournament of any game they hold the rights to.

Cut the bullshit, just say what we all know you mean - keep the politics out of it, unless it’s something I’m comfortable with.
