That naked guy running down the street is in Oakville, Ontario. I’m pretty sure Petro-Canada doesn’t have any locations in Florida.

The “barbarians at the gate” comment is interesting because Sony was literally that barbarian at the gate 30 years ago.
Gamers when something is silly: They should pander to the west and make it serious like how we like it, screw the creator’s vision.
Toriyama got sick of it being too serious, which was his decision to make. It didn’t matter to him that American fans would get upset when it became sillier again.
Dragon Ball started out as a whimsical action/adventure manga with tons of gag elements to it. That’s where its roots are.
Oh, for sure. I can’t fault them on that. I didn’t ask for it, but it’s not for me anyway. No big deal.
The other message is don’t resist growing up, but also don’t grow up too fast.
“I think you might be projecting a bit.”
FLCL wasn’t “deep”, it was never meant to be, it was just a fun, tight, and relatable story with some amazing direction and great music from a team of rising animation stars trying to figure out the next generation of of their artform. The whole thing was one big experiment of throwing Gainax money at a developing a…
FLCL is one of my favourite series of all time, but I couldn’t get into its follow-ups. It wasn’t the same. Doubt I’ll like this one, either. But I don’t resent its existence, I’ll just continue to remember FLCL as a self-contained story.
I’m happy with my personal fave, SFA2, in that near-top spot. It was the most playable of all them for me.
I’ve got an old Mario-shaped Cheez Whiz bottle that was a promo for Super Mario Bros. 3.
Do you remember how Halo was developed for Mac, and personally shown off by Steve Jobs at MacWorld Expo? I remember.
I dislike OOT’s aesthetic primarily for Link’s ‘90s preppy hairstyle.
“Fans” and “being mad.” Name a more iconic duo.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt the “New” series to be underwhelming. The levels were uninspired, the shake control on the Wii was beyond frustrating, the music was annoying and repetitive, and overall it just lacked the undefinable quality that made 2D Mario games what they were.
This is a very specific ‘90s aesthetic.
The Saturn was originally intended to be a 2D powerhouse, but 3D gaming’s sudden rise caught them off guard. To oversimplify what happened, late in development they improvised a design overhaul by adding a second CPU, and their “3D engine” was in reality composed of 2D sprites scaled and warped to resemble polygons.
People don’t understand that you can praise Saturn for being a neat bit of technology with a collection of solid and fun games while also acknowledging that it was an abject failure outside of Japan.
New Jet Set Radio: This is what I’ve been wanting for 20 years.
