My TV is 12 years old. Don’t tell me what to do.

“Iconic” is a word I wish we could leave behind in the ‘10s.

Because the right wing propaganda machine sews unending paranoia into them. In their minds they’re one step away from being thrown into a gulag if any “leftist” policy makes it through.

So this is more “How do you do fellow normies?”

I’ve got a bulky old Yamaha receiver I’m quite happy with. I have no interest in surround, I just have two high-quality speakers, so an optical connection is all I need.

GameFreak never even wanted to make a Pokemon game for home consoles, they just had no choice this time. It’s always been developed as a game for kids to bond over in the playground.

Keep that frame interpolation away, thank you. ☠️

Gimme a 4K HDR set with a bunch of HDMI ports, a TV tuner (got that antenna), optical audio out, and no other features, and you have my ideal set.

Back then you could slap “Interactive Multimedia” on a box, and people would spend hours just clicking on things to watch them makes sounds and animate. It really was a different world, with much lower expectations.

That immediately brought me back to IRC c. 1997.

Add in some trashy CanCon like April Wine, and that’s the playlist on Q107.

“I don’t use this thing, therefore other people must not use this thing.”

Are the job losses the internet’s fault, or the fault of the studio executive who didn’t understand the product or the audience?

So there should be no repercussions for reprehensible behaviour, no matter how uncomfortable it may make coworkers when they learn of it? That sends an even worse message. “Abuse people as much as you want. You get to keep your career, after all!”

I’m moving into a smaller place in a few weeks, so I’m using this opportunity to get rid of a good chunk of my stuff. I started by selling video game magazines from the ‘90s on ebay, because they take up a lot of space and I haven’t cracked them open in that long anyway.

This is the pain computer buyers from the ‘80s to the mid-’00s were quite familiar with. Oh, you bought a computer 8 months ago? Here’s one that’s twice as powerful for the same price.

It’s amazing how some people react to being called trash by immediately proving to the world that they are trash.

Rebuild 2.0 was intentionally brain-dead fan service. Rebuild 3.0 was a swift kick in the head to those who fell for the fan service. Anno really hates Eva fans, and justifiably so.

For dumb-shit-watching ‘90s teen me, those two movies (they only made two) were an unexpected treat that elevated my standards.

I mean, the guy’s name is “Dr. Disrespect”, so you kinda know what you’re getting. But yes, fuck him and all those other asshole streamers.
