I wish it weren't so taboo too! We should be able to talk about it like any normal bodily function but since it has to do with most women's bodies it becomes this shameful, dirty thing that should never be mentioned in public.

I unfortunately used to be one of those women who did that too. I have a friend who throws up sometimes and I thought she just whining until I learned a little more about the whole thing and the issues that can come with it. I'm sorry your mom was so unsupportive.

It was pretty brave of her to mention it. A lot of people see it as just an excuse for doing poorly or proof that women are inferior to men. A lot of men really don't realize that some women get debilitating cramps that do completely incapacitate them. But on the other hand, a lot also don't understand that not every

People are annoyed by the word "females" to describe women because MRA's often use it in a dehumanizing way. Men do this, *females* do that. Kinda like that. But you are correct that some women don't know how to let a guy down gently and feel the need to embarrass him for simply asking her out which is not right.

Some people here are weirdly eager to have an opportunity to use their guns to kill another person. Our culture is steeped in violence.

I doubt you will as you guys don't have extreme Christians like we do.

It's really something most of us don't seem to think of! I can't imagine how she must have felt.

I've heard many people rave about o.b tampons but I can't seem to insert them properly.

Sad. :( They have to eat something though.

Not all, no. But you should see the looks I get from people at UIUC when I describe where I'm from. They (some of them) definitely start treating me differently.

And you all look down on people like me who are from small farming communities. ;)

That's wonderful that your uncle had such lovely people to watch over him! Seriously, this story just made me feel very happy.

The rural poor are in a similar situation if they don't live near a grocery store or Walmart or something.

Question: I've been told that the suburbanites look down on people from the city because Chicago itself is seen as "poor" while places like Naperville are seen as affluent. Is there any truth to that? Assuming you are from Chicago.

Most of them believe that there's an exception for kids who are too young to understand the concept of being "saved" I guess.

Native Chicagoans think the pizza is terrible? :( Most of my suburban friends (I am from Central Illinois) think Chicago style pizza is the bomb.

I flagged it. Hopefully it'll get removed soon.

My roommate told me that showering at night is the Asian way.

I called my dad out for being sexist and told him to remember that he does have a wife, a daughter, a sister, etc. because that seems like the only way to get through to men sometimes. He said he made the comment about women because of his "personal experiences" in life and that it's just his opinion.

Ew, Starbucks! D:
