I’ll tolerate a subscription on a feature that is constantly getting updated... like traffic camera or speed trap updates. You can also get by without those at all. But paying a subscription for hardware features that don’t need regular updates is gonna be a pass for me.

[insert “Good” meme here]

There’s a bunch of stuff like this in the Northwest. Animals start using the safer crossings immediately, even before the grass is laid down.

The tunnels look better, but they also did some wildlife crossing bridges over one of the interstates here and the wildlife actually do use it to cross.

and all those stupid birds and squirrels building their tiny homes out of sticks, crowding the local trees? no thanks

I gave stick-shift lessons to all three of my kids - but only one of my 20-somethings decided to enjoy it. He started out with my ‘00 Subaru Legacy stick wagon - but we decided he needed something else when heading out of town for school. It turns out that a neighbor was selling an ‘06 Honda Element AWD 5-speed, so

I’m doing my part. Have taught my 18 and 16-year-olds to drive our manual Subaru. Don’t dismiss my contribution! The 16-year-old is definitely not born to drive this car, and I (and the car) are taking our lumps teaching him. Can’t say the older kid has any specific affection for the manual, though.

Came here to say this. Content with giving a star and comment. Racially insensitive is inadvertently saying something inappropriate that has some racial overtones. Maybe a joke or a turn of phrase that we shouldn’t use because of its history, its phrasing, its word choice or its implications.

Aaaaaand, they’re basically all SUV’s.

ah well never mind

Talk about some value engineering. The folks at Tata must have said “hey let’s use the same block”. If you look at other V6 engines from other manufacturers a number of them are just versions of a V8 with two cylinders lopped off. The GM 4.3 being a 5.7 350 cid sans two cylinders. The Magnum 3.9 is a 5.2 318 cid minus

IMHO-US consumers do very little preventative maintenance beyond changing the oil.

We have three young kids. Car seats have gotten so massive we can’t reasonably fit three across in anything normal, so the eldest is in the third row and the two younger ones are in the Captain’s chairs in the minivan.

I have a Sienna and only two kids. Our day to day doesn’t require the third row, but we use it almost every weekend when their cousins come over and it is nice to have when my parents visit and we can fit everyone in one vehicle. I’m also planning to get a hitch attachment so I can tow the Christmas float for the

Because for a vast majority of the population, THEY ARE GOOD ENOUGH. Toyota is banking on people realizing this and since they already know how to make hybrids really well, they are just biding their time rather than spending ungodly amounts of money on the latest hot thing to grab simple minded shareholder’s and

Well, look at the annoying knob who started it and you shouldn’t be surprised about the outcome.

Smokers cars. If you smoked in your car go ahead and cut the KBB value in half then subtract another $2k.
And yes, ever person who doesn’t smoke can tell your car still smells like cigarettes over the smell of 100x little trees black ice air fresheners.

That is, allegedly, a really nice move on the part of whoever would actually do that! Not that anyone would, or has, of course.
