Back in my day...

I’m starting to realize that I am rapidly moving into the middle-age bracket because I’m noticing things I loved growing up are now showing up in ads to sell me crap. Medication commercials now feature grunge rock in the background and auto manufacturers are now considering using 90's design as ‘retro’ call back

You can’t take a heritage car and bring it back as a rehash of another brand’s car. There is no excuse for Toyota doing this. Toyota knows how to make a sports car, and even if they wanted to be totally lazy, they could’ve taken the Lexus RC and started there.

TIL I know nothing about convertible crash safety standards. Interesting stuff.

Wait, who cares about the window?

We dont deserve the Nissan 370, yet Nissan continues to make it.  It’s what we keep asking every manufacturer to make, a simple manual transmission sports car that’s usable every day, yet it gets slammed for being too heavy (which it really isnt) or outdated (yet we want old school sports cars).

OK so I did a quick poll I live on a sorta busy street in Melbourne and a quick look over my balcony confirmed the following: European cars tend to have the filler on the right side. Japanese cars seem to be a case of whatever. Toyota predominantly on the left, but some have it on the right but Subaru seems to be

i have 6 cars and trucks. none have this arrow.

You shut your whore mouth!

Are you saying that this Malibu needs to be....retired?

When a ‘90s Malibu needs new tires, I’m pretty sure it’s considered totaled.

I’m old enough to remember when this was called Ghost Riding.

While watching the FIFA World Cup a few weeks ago, my boss noticed players sitting in race car seats, and ordered me to figure out why.

Congratulations on your COTD win Kaycog. I’d like to present you with this lovely chicken coop which this rooster will deliver as soon as he’s done strutting his stuff

Congratulations, Mr. oldirtybootz, on COTD! I would like to gift you with a bicycle which this lovely lady will deliver soon. Her friendly service is non-stop.

I have this mental image of a whole line of these linked together like a train, going at decent speeds and making the Jetson’s bubble car sound, with individual pods occasionally separating when people get near their destinations.

Congratulations, Mr. Rosin, on yet another COTD! I would like to gift you with a Ford Fiesta which this lovely lady will deliver with no more Fs to give.

Beautiful car, but it’s too bad Honda went with the standard dash design for that model. The dash on my old ‘96 Prelude was so ahead of it’s time, putting a smile on my face with every turn the key.

What’s stupid is that car makers are fully capable of meeting the efficiency standards. Engines have become vastly more efficient over the decades. But instead of that translating to gains in mpg, it translates to gains in horsepower while mpg remains stagnant. Instead of stuffing another 100hp into a Ford family
