No matter how fast I’m driving, it never fails that a Kia hamster car will spawn behind me, wanting to be going faster. I’ve seen way more hamster cars weaving in traffic than this whole Altima meme at this point.

I think the issue of asking for mileage is that all the money goes to the state the car is registered in. What about road trips? For example, I live in state M and drive to state V every month for work. Buying gas in state V pays local taxes for road maintenance in that state. However if we went purely based on

We may not like it, but something has to give. Many states rely on the gas tax for roads, bridges, etc. So hybrids and EVs are effectively paying less (or nothing) while weighing the same and putting the same wear and tear on infrastructure. Right now, gas cars are subsidizing efficient vehicles. A per mileage

After some of those comments about “but we’re not in Puerto Rico” his immediate reply should have been “you realize Puerto Rico is part of the United States, right?” The immediate realization of gears turning in the brains of the mouth breathers would be hilarious, if it wasn’t so sad.

Hard to pin down a single car, but what stands out to me is the large number of “retro-styled” cars that came out in that era. Off the top of my head we had:

I’m curious as well. Everything I can find just seems like a copypasta of the same source article. They say no injuries reported, but then in the next sentence say authorities haven’t been able to get to the truck. You’d assume either the company or family would have reported him (or her) missing by now, or someone

There’s a low bridge near my house in MD and they tried exactly that. Several chains with reflective bottle looking things that could alert a tall vehicle but not get hung up. It took about a month for one to go missing, and after about 6 months, all of the hanging things had been ripped off by trucks hitting them at

Considering the much older ISF is still holding value really well, I think it’s safe to say that the “outdated infotainment” systems (that professional auto journalists seem to get hung up on) doesn’t really matter. A well built car, free of rattles, that is reliable and reasonably fast is what this car is all about.

Everyone seems to have sleeves today that I probably wouldn’t have noticed anything off either, so you’re not the only one who doesn’t care enough to analyze tattoos. That said, I guess I’m sorta glad these things get sensationalized a bit because I wouldn’t have picked up the meaning either even if I did notice this

I don’t understand the constant push for “move to big cities, take mass transit” that’s constantly pushed online. It’s like city dwellers never leave their small island and thus fail to realize just how large the US really is. Sure everything makes sense if you live in a dense urban area, but it makes zero sense for

The Infiniti IPL G37. Back when Infiniti was doing pretty good, they announced a new performance line and everyone assumed they were going to release a real BMW M competitor. So it was a big disappointment when what we got was the Nismo Skyline, which was essentially the same as a Nismo 370Z. I guess Infiniti couldn’t

Came here for a Prelude reference. Not disappointed.

Literally every Hyundai up until the early 2020s looks like a knockoff of the competition. They’ve been doing it so long that around the early 2010s, any new car announcement would be met with “it looks like a Hyundai” comments. Well that’s because they copied everyone, so no wonder everything looked like one.

Tire prices have shot up in the last year and a half or so. I used to get a set of Conti DWS06 for about $7-800 delivered. When I priced out a set a few months ago, they were around $1,000.

Instead of leveraging their success of the 2000s, 2010s Infiniti was just confused. They moved their headquarters (twice) and hired a one-trick-pony CEO for a few years. Johan de Nysschen basically just said all cars needed to use Audi’s naming convention and eradicated the equity built up in the G and FX lines, then

Nice. I went the Infiniti route back then (gave the G35 to my daughter a few years ago) but definitely cross-shopped the TL at time.

I think the outrage is because this tow company was using “predatory” towing tactics then playing dumb when called out. A lot of these could also be from busy bodies calling and saying “hey, this car hasn’t moved in two months, is it stolen or abandoned?”

The TL Type-S from that era is still one of the better looking sedans out there.

These cars were not repossessed though. That’s why the tow company was able to auction them off for profit as “abandoned” vehicles since they weren’t claimed in a short time window. A lot of times the deployed servicemember didn’t even know there was an issue until they got home after being gone for 6-7 months only to
