It is now. The QX80/QX56 has been using the Nissan Patrol platform since the 2011 model. Now the Armada is using the Patrol platform. I’m just slightly disappointed that it took them so long to do this. Basically the Armada is a 5+ year old truck platform out the gate. Will they refresh it when the Patrol gets an

True story. I even park ours in the grass/dirt parking lots when the fair comes to town. 4WD donuts in a grass parking lot after a music festival are pretty fun also. Probably looked like a moron to everybody around, but IDGAF.

Well, the article made it sound like owners weren’t bothering to get their cars repaired. Here we have an owner attempting to get his car repair but parts are unavailable. Sounds like there’s several factors at play here resulting in the “abysmally low rate of Americans actually getting their recalled cars fixed.”

It’s confusing because it was a change. They are basically following Audi’s naming: A3, A4, A5, A7, etc. It’s supposed to let snobby buyers know where their car lands in the brand’s lineup; “Oh, Brad got a Q50, so I’m going to get a Q70 because it’s ‘better’ or something.”

Hmmm, Audi is: A, S, RS

Don’t forget they have a 400 hp version also. The 300 hp version has got to be seriously de-tuned for a better price point.

I’m not seeing a manual option on that RS60 (you know that’s what they really wanted to call it, but I’m sure Audi would have issues, they’re not fooling anyone with this ‘Red Sport’ stuff), so I guess I’m stuck with my G35 6MT that has an obnoxious exhaust for a little bit longer.

Looks like the gift card is $50, and the $10 credit gets applied to your account. You can then do one of two things: give the card as a gift and it only cost you $40, or add the card to your account when you receive it and have $60 to spend. Pretty good ROI in that case.

Was it undercover cops that were chasing him, or uniformed/marked police cars? If it was only undercover/unmarked cars, then that guy could have had a legitimate fear for his life. It’s easy to say “don’t run from cops” but it’s a bit different when hanging out with friends turns into “why is that normal looking car

Nice! Did you climb the stairs? There’s definitely a lot of weird things to explore.

I visited there for work a few years back, got done a little early and spent a day driving around the island. Seriously took less than a day to drive around the whole thing and stop at a few things along the way. The concrete “semi-swimming” pools were pretty interesting. I snapped this pic at one of the swimming

Bluetooth OBD2 dongle and diagnostic app on a smartphone would have caught that. Sad it’s needed, but just another tool to use when checking out used cars from those small independent dealerships.

Back in high school, my 240SX did the exact same thing as this Mustang. Except we spun a full 360 and came nose to nose with a dually for a brief moment while sliding to the median, talk about a butthole pucker moment.

It was absolutely horrible in the Tidewater area in the early-2000s. I actually found the DC area to be so much more tolerant when I moved here around 2005. I live in MD now and see more cops “enforcing traffic” on my monthly trips into VA for drill weekends than I do anywhere else.

Sounds like you’re grappling with the whole “built, not bought” mentality. Granted, I’ve only modified stock cars, but buying a well built machine that only requires new wheels and a shift knob sometimes sounds appealing.

I would gladly drive this unicorn around for combination family and fun duties.

Those car seat bases add a lot of unnecessary bulk. They work great in a van or SUV where there’s plenty of wasted space for such things, but in a coupe or regular sedan it requires the passenger to sit a bit far forward and upright.

I dunno, Nissan hasn’t ran an ad campaign saying how much pigs love car rides yet. Only dogs loving trucks has been confirmed.

The highways are shit due to several factors: crappy soil, tornadoes, stamped concrete roads that sound like train tracks, and the fact that everyone drives large bro-trucks slowly in the left lane.

Having moved from Oklahoma (that phased out inspections) to Virginia (that still has annual inspection, plus I “had a guy”) to Maryland (one-time) I can say it’s really a wash. At least the MD at time of sale inspection helps make sure you buy a functioning used car. I’ve bought two cars that I had the dealership make
