I guess it will be a hell of a challenge for decent Republicans to rebuild a democratically viable party. After all democracy needs at least two solid parties.

What I mean is that many times these guys would be like, normal. Normal guys who in the last 5 years slipped towards a form of proud and violent cretinism that was uncommon before. Granted, some of them will be like your neighbor, but I want to believe they were rather exceptions, not almost half of the country.
