I live in Minnesota now but I’m not from Minnesota, and I have never understood her appeal. I did vote for her last time around, but it’s not so much I voted for her but against her Republican candidate. Anyone reasonable - we have SO MUCH crackpottery in this state - wants to primary her, I will be happy to look them

Remember, this is the state that couldn’t even nail Jeronimo Yanez for second degree manslaughter and 2 counts of dangerous discharge of a firearm for the killing of Philando Castile. (Though that was a Ramsey County/St. Paul thing, not a Hennepin County/Minneapolis thing.) I’m still stunned about that 3+ years later.

I want to enjoy this, I truly do - I don’t understand the absolute fetishization of Target.

YES. I came here to say that.

That this douchebag lost his lease gives me so...much...joy. Totally deserved.

A part of the problem is cops for Minneapolis don’t have to live in Minneapolis. They live out in the suburbs, and while Minnesota has a reputation as a blue state, that is purely based on the dense population of core Minneapolis and St. Paul. Where Chauvin lives is the same Congressional district as downtown St.

I just fucking hate that Biden is the presumptive candidate. He was problematic for years when Obama chose him (to help bring in Pennsyltucky), he was problematic after the Obama administration, and he’s so fucking problematic now.

As we’ve expanded beyond our neighborhood to more curbside stuff, we’ve been happily ordering from our Chinese and Vietnamese/Hmong restaurants. Gotta start adding the Thai into the mix.  Gotta support my many, not-shit (fuck you, Andrew Zimmern) Twin Cities Asian restaurants!

I’m high risk, and we’ve been doing curbside takeout - ordering directly with the restaurant - since the beginning of our self-quarantine. It supports the restaurants and as long as you take some basic precautions - namely, replating your food with clean hands and then washing them well after throwing the packaging

Nah, it’s not wrong - you know Trump’s Northern Virignia golf course was kept open specifically for the benefit of his pocketbook. He might have to, you know, refund members some money if the club wasn’t open!

And he took down way too many trees when he bought it and has a completely fake Civil War monument on it. So

Oh come on - Minnesota (where most Caribou Coffee’s are located) barely closed any parks, golf courses remained open, and people were fishing, hiking, and hunting. People have been outside the whole time (some social distancing better than others, but still - outdoors).

Soup dumplings.  No one is really doing those for takeout - understandable - and I love them so much...

Not haven’t touched, so much as hasn’t needed as much as I thought - tortillas.

While nothing tastes quite as good as browned butter, I have to wonder how much mayo you’re using on your grilled cheese.

We have a Russian restaurant here in the Twin Cities that infuses all their vodkas. (The Garlic-Dill is the standout - SO GOOD in shots, especially with the gherkin that comes propped across the top.) So the standard Bloody is one with horseradish vodka - always a knockout.

Pretty much, yeah. Also, “There’s a sucker born every minute.”

As with any bug, there will be parts of the population that don’t get it for some reason. So, as my late mother used to say about shitastic people who seemed to live long and productively destructive lives:

They are, essentially, a vehicle to consume butter and salt.  But Syracuse is also known as “Salt City” because they used to mine it there.

That mixture sounds like a lot, but I didn’t know about Irish Cream Brownie.  (I’d seen straight Irish Cream before.)  Gonna have to look for that, thanks!

That could be correct - it’s just really yummy.  It’s so rich, I’ve found shooters work well.  You can always have two or maybe 3, and that’s enough.
