For what it's worth, this show is not playing into stereotypes, it's based on Eddie Huang's actual childhood, so there is a basis in truth. I'm Asian and I love this show. It is very reminiscent of my own years growing up as a stranger in a strange land.

She is fantastic on the show. I was wary at first, because I had such oversized hopes for it even before it began, but it hasn't disappointed and she's the reason why. It warms my heart that she's so articulate and unafraid to voice an opinion in real life as well.
