Is my clock super fast? This is really April Fool's Day, Right? The Deadspin dudes wrote this.

I can't remember the woman's name or I'd send you a link, but she won one year, and she was so scary thin that TV audiences were afraid for her. Her story describes pretty well what the 'teams' do to a contestant (the forced dehydration part was horrifying). I think at one point she said that she and a fellow…
Is that woman in the black and white outfit hiding behind a bush? That's my favorite part of the pic. There's a story there.
Yes. This would have been my answer if I could get anywhere near a beach. Towels rule.

But it's ever so "Game of Throooones!" Just teas'in. I don't live 2000 miles near any kind of true coastal beach :-)

Haha! I don't know 9 out of 10 people mentioned or featured here....which I suppose is why I visit here:/
Chamomile is good.
Oops. I thought you were serious. Sorry.
Sometimes I do "gratitude" prayers: basically just thanking the Universe for the good things you get to enjoy. Many scientists believe that doing this over time creates new neural pathways and an over-all improved sense of well-being. I haven't done enough to get that far tho :)
I don't want to sound contentious, but Trazodone is an antidepressant. I was on it for a while, and then some fairly stern warnings came out and I was taken off. I don't recall any sleep effects, but YMMV. I was on a fair bit of SSRIs for quite a while before I decided that they were doing me more harm than good.
Didn't help me :( But many swear by it.
Been in that place for four years now. I tried alcohol for a while, but only makes it worse. Might want to check your hormones. They can make sleep awfully wonky earlier than most women think. Thyroid? It's an easy test. I nick a few of my Guy's Ambien but don't want to get addicted. I don't do weed, but apparently it…
Oh god. When I was an undergrad they were still shoving New Criticism Chicago style down our throats. It was the equivalent of lobbying a “you’re an imbecile; here is the TRUTH of the MATTER” grenade at your “enemy” and then running for cover under a pile of “already established facts" (secondary sources). These days,…
I wanted to mention that as well. The "I feel" rather "YOU made ME feel" has become fairly standardized by psychologists, behaviorists, etc. For my partner and I it only actually works if we WANT to hear each other. That's beside the point. Of course, it has filtered into the wider realm of other kinds of discourse.…
I usually only rely on the standard review sites when I'm in a big hurry, as I commented. But thanks. By all accounts this movie isn't meant to displace the original (even though the voice over said "30 years ago, blah blah"). Maybe the dislikes aren't prompted by sexism. It's just a conjecture. But, for me at least,…
Not too many years ago I struck up a conversation with a guy who worked as a jeweler at a Dept. store. He told me that during his interview, he was asked outright if he was married to a Black woman. I said, "I think that's some kind of illegal." He shrugged "Well this is [name of town] you know." Ugh. How could I…
Braver than I. I have enough trouble "following" my guy around a big store. He isn't one of those tiny wiry dues, but -by god- he can disappear quicker than Dumbeldore on his best day.
