It’s a bit unfair to expect voters to have the slightest clue about how government works when it’s not expected of the president.

To be fair, most people who want lower taxes have absolutely no idea how anything at all works beyond their ability to complain about lower taxes. If you showed them a state, township, or even federal government spending chart their eyes would immediately glaze over and they’d be thinking about season 48 of America’s

Opened that trailer just to immediately downvote it.

So we can stop pretending to give a shit about horse racing for 10 minutes a year now right?

I think this was an AWESOME NBA Finals! For the first time in history, we got to see what it’s like for a singular NBA player to go up against the starting five of the opposing team, the starting four of his own team, his own head coach AND the referees! His only “friend” in this series was probably the opposing

The people. I... I said it’s because of the people involved... right there in the initial post... the personalities...

Yeah, Deadspin, it’s been 12 hours already! Don’t you have anything better to talk about now that the 3 major sports are in their off-season?! Jeez!

The NBA has the most compelling storylines and intriguing personalities in all of US sports while subsequently having the least interesting product.

Oh this is the good shit.

At least next season we’ll see the Warriors face a worthy challenger in... in...

The motto for poor, white Americans since before this country was founded can be summed up with: “At least I’m not black.” Like, it’s really not too much more complicated than that. So long as there is someone underneath them, they’ll be content even if they aren’t truly happy about their station.

They don’t care. They would rather suffer, as long as they think “undesirables” are suffering more.

There’s so much irony in that they don’t give a fuck, cause Jim Crow ain’t gonna work like they want it. First of all, Jim Crow 1st edition discriminated not only against blacks, but against poor whites, Catholics and women, to name a few.

Letting more people of color have the same opportunities is...racist? They are the closest non-white demographic to closing the wage gap. Meanwhile Latinas are dead last. They can’t be serious.

Asian people as a whole face a lot of prejudice, discrimination, racism, and have been some of the more notable victims of our

Psssst...they don’t care. They just know that emulating white people in hating Blacks and Latinos has worked for them this long, so they’re gonna continue.

My understanding is that this policy is supposed to provide opportunity for impoverished students, not necessarily just black and Latinx students. The connections between economic opportunity and race are well documented but for the poor Asian students, this policy should actually make things easier.

Asians have (and still do) encounter discrimination and even racism. But it pales in comparison to that suffered by black and Latino populations.

Some things that we use blood tests for have too much variability within the body for such a small blood sample to ever give a reliable reading. You need the larger volumes because you need things to average out.
