You need an official contrite apology? Really? Honor must be satisfied and all that? It was a plausibly disappointing video game launch, not the Rape of Nanjing.

I see, thanks! I gotta say, I may be jumping back in sooner than I originally planned.

Question: how do you monitor ship fuel, etc, in 3rd person?

Agreed, and on the Nintendo point as well. They’re pretty much the only ones I can feel good about at launch these days. Most other big-name devs need another 6 months at least after launch for their game to finish cooking :(

I started a new game with the last big update and it was worth it just to experience all the changes from the get-go. Planning on doing that again for NEXT.

I don’t have any “This is exactly why I never [...]” -type advice for this. I just want to say: that really, really sucks. Sorry man :(

Great write-up! I don’t have time right now to respond at length, but it was very cool if you to come back and post some impressions.

That’s fair. I’m pretty happy with all the Luke-related stuff in TLJ, but I can totally see and understand why you’d feel that way.

I’m up for more generous drop rates! This game kicks my ass. But it’s a fun ass-kicking! Got no complaints.

Agree COMPLETELY. Attempts at realistic sci-fi belongs on things like The Expanse, not Star Wars. Star Wars is space fantasy, and I love that about it.

I really appreciate comments like this, and it seems that Tsukuda has the chops to make it work. I was intrigued by this game during the E3 Direct, but it’s definitely on my ‘must-watch’ list now.

I have to say, I never understood why they had to do a trench run on the OG Death Star at all. Couldn’t they just fly in from directly overhead and shoot at the exhaust port directly from above? Anybody who used to bulls-eye womprats in their T16s back home could have made that shot.

I can’t completely agree about Rian Johnson’s intentions. I don’t feel that he did it for the sake of being confrontational or edgy. I think he turned cardboard cut-out archetypes into real people with real flaws, people who are forced to make difficult decisions under less than ideal circumstances, decisions that

But there is no “just because”. Luke himself told Rey that it had been building up and getting worse for quite some time. As other people have stated, the only thing we the audience are missing is the ability to see what Luke saw, and over the length of time that he saw it.

I was five. I thought it said “OIL” on the back of the stormtrooper armor.

I will gladly accept that, as long as there’s a deleted scene of a stormtrooper dropping a banana peel in front of the tractor beam controls earlier and the whole thing plays out to 1920’s ragtime music.

I dunno. The ENTIRE exchange between Luke and the Emperor consists of the Emperor trolling Luke to give in. It couldn’t be more obvious if an ugnaught appeared in the corner of the screen holding a cue-card for the audience.
