That’s a hell of a good haul.
That’s a hell of a good haul.
Duly noted. I will bring this to Brjann’s attention when I meet him for skee-ball next weekend.
To answer your question, I’ve decided to get it. I had a lot of fun playing, and am looking forward to trying the different modes. Based on several days with the beta, I remain unconvinced that Biff Pendleton III, Esq. is going to come in off the bat with a gold-tier god character after maxing out his dad’s platinum…
The good news here is that Golf Story is worth it. So good.
Exactly the same here. Finished the main story yesterday, and went on to some other games. Loaded up Odyssey this morning and went back the first Cap world to collect, and kind of didn’t want to stop playing. Now I feel like the main game was the intro.
$20 gets me the game, and a Samus car? Like many people, I got it for free on PS4 quite some time back, but I’ll consider this $20 gladly spent.
I’m really glad to know this. I, along with some others, have been lamenting the relative lack of difficulty in the main game, especially with regard to enemies. This article and accompanying videos have shown me that I’ve been looking at it the wrong way. Pretty exciting to see these moves, and I love the little…
[POSSIBLE SPOILER]
Ah, this is where games like FIFA, Star Fox, ARMS, Other M, etc, etc. ETC all get forgotten about in favor of this mythical “Nintendo Pass” these people pull out of their ass whenever something they don’t like from Nintendo gets credit.
Wow, that 20% digital discount would be a game-changer in the US.
That little screen is gorgeous. Also, Golf Story and Stardew Valley are constantly jockeying for first and second position on my Switch home screen haha.
Great observation. I remember reading in the past that one concern publishers expressed about putting a game on a Nintendo console was having to compete against Nintendo themselves. If the point you make here is in fact on-target, then that’s a different, welcome strategy. And it’s working. I went from “I don’t buy…
You’ve made an excellent point. Some of the best games I’ve bought this year have been $14.99-$19.99 off the eShop. Switch’s hybridity makes them a joy to play, too.
I know, right? It’s never cumbersome to play, and the dialogue is great. Pure indie win.
Thanks for your reply! I do hope we get to see your group’s title on the Switch. When (not “if”...stay positive!) it comes out, be sure to jump back on here so we can give credit. Good luck!
It does make sense, as first party Nintendo games do hold their value for an absurdly long time. I find that I’ve been buying the evergreen titles (MK8, Splatoon 2) digital as I’ll want them with me for years to come, and I’ll always play them to some degree, but others that I may just want to complete and move on…
Hear hear. I absolutely consider Golf Story to be one of the very best game purchases I’ve made all year.
I’m afraid I don’t know much about the indie development scene. Would you mind elaborating a bit for us muggles? Is the queue that long, or is it hard getting their attention?
Ah, ok! I remember being told in-game that it covered 8 tiles, but wasn’t clear on if that was radius, diameter, or what. This really helps, thanks!
It’s a great game for Switch. I love playing games like this whenever I’ve got a few minutes and am not in front of a TV. Also, totally with you on your last point. It’s so refreshing to play a game where I can have fun without “winning” it.
