Read Kirk’s accompanying article, it’s also pretty illuminating. Normally I am scared away from this type of game over the same things you mention above, but so far Stardew Valley hasn’t penalized me for “missing” events like Harvest Moon does, nor does everything go to hell like in Animal Crossing if you don’t do

Important question!: in one of the screenshots above showing your farm layout, does 1 scarecrow really cover that much real estate? I installed 3 to cover the same area, and can’t gauge if that’s overkill or not...

I only played Pikmin 3, which I absolutely loved. A couple of false starts and resets on given days, but for the most part I feel like I did alright. Definitely had fun. I read that Pikmin 2 had a pretty unforgiving clock; that would have really tied me up too, I think.

I think you’re right about Nintendo just wanting to lock the patent down. If a Game Boy Classic did come out, I have to say I’d probably skip it. GBA Classic would be another story entirely.

I’m about 12 in-game days into the game, and it doesn’t keep going when you’re turned off because it’s not connected to the Switch’s clock in any way. The game saves automatically when you go to sleep at night. Whenever I start it up, it’s always at 6:00 a.m. of the morning after the game last saved. Like you, I’m

I get paralyzed in games like this over the worry that I completely missed doing something and that opportunity has been lost forever. I’ve read that you can essentially play Stardew Valley forever, and that was a huge weight off my mind. I’m still only halfway through Spring (just got the game on Switch a few days

OG Van Halen...what else is there to say that hasn’t already been said? RIP.

Wait, what? The other guy just asked you a couple of questions, hadn’t actually defended anything. I think you already knew what you wanted to say and just vomited it out.

LotR mad-libs? Nice! Please provide the following: 1) noun, 2) plural noun, 3) noun, 4) famous name, 5) verb.

I’ve tried Harvest Moon games more than once, and I admit I tend to drift away from them as I lose interest. Will Stardew Valley work for me, or is that a fool’s hope? With so many people saying so many great things, I’m trying really hard to convince myself that I’m going to love this game. Welcoming any

I just learned here about using the left/right triggers for adding spin after the ball lands. I wasn’t wondering why, even with the hit spot all the way at the bottom of the ball, I couldn’t do a draw shot. Will try the triggers later as advised in the article.

I did all that yesterday, but with my feet. And I have neither a gaming PC nor an XBox.

For some of you I guess it just evaporates into hopes and dreams like unicorn pee. I of course have no problem using my own underclothes to soak up any excess urine—in fact I welcome it—but I’m told that some folk prefer to use toilet paper in such situations. Smh.

Haven’t played Amnesia at all, looking forward to it. I recommend Alien Isolation as good training for these types of games. If you can get through that without having a heart attack then you’re good to go!

I loved those old junior-high lunch table conversations over the NES. SMB warp pipes, Zelda dungeon maps, Metroid power-up locations...those were such fun times. I remember when one kid came in to homeroom with the Metroid super password. Like Rick in Casablanca with the exit visas, as long as that kid had the

Admirable review. I have to admit, Destiny never inspired that degree of introspection in me, nor did it ever really serve as a valued social experience for me (or at least, one that I actively sought. I did play with some great people). I always felt more like a magpie chasing after the next shiny thing when I

I’d second that on ME:A. I had a lot more fun with it than I was expecting. The new abilities are fun, the action is good, and the locations were graphically appealing. My only complaint is that I never got to see first-hand any of those funny animation glitches that were all over the internet when the game first came

Shephy is awesome! My best was only maybe 70 sheep. Gonner is a great one too! Very happy with these two purchases.

It’s true. Their marketing for the Switch has been really on-point, which in itself is kind of remarkable considering their struggles with marketing in the past. But on that note, as you intimated above, Nintendo’s DS line kind of did its own marketing. You saw people with it, and you knew what it was when you saw it.

Very good well-articulated points.
