oh, never do engine mounts.

Parents should time their minivan purchase so by the time you’re ready to replace it, your first kid will be turning 16, so you give them the old van to drive.
Recently, I very scientifically polled (by posting the question on facebook, of course) my peers with kids on why they drive SUVs/CUVs instead of minivans. The responses broke down into 3 categories:
The whole “minivans are uncool” thing is ridiculous on it’s face. You ceased being a cool person when you had kids, buying a tarted up wagon with plastic wheel arches isn’t going to fool anyone. Just get the damn minivan, it’s the best tool for the job.
Actually, we are getting better at making our bombs not blow up.
LS swaps are the new SBC swaps. I get it: LS motors are great, fairly lightweight and have tons of aftermarket - so they are a very reasonable choice to swap. They’re so ubiquitous now, that they’ve become boring. It’s like going to a classic car show and seeing a ‘32 Ford with a 350 Chevy. After the 50th one you’ve…
What kind of “experts” don’t suggest a Honda Accord Sport 2.0T which is a similar motor to the Type R. Comes in a Manual Transmission and is a great family sedan and what I’d expect would be Honda reliability.
4 kids, 1 dog, wake boat. All of the capacity is used on a regular basis.
Part of me admires the brutality of it, the raw unedited and unrefined brutalism of it speaks to me.
However, the other part of me has eyes.
What’s the next big thing for electric vehicles? Probably pickup trucks. Ford is doing it and so are startups like Ri…
Call it a Probe and nobody would give it a second look.
Its not the responsibility of consumers to prop up a marketplace. It is their responsibility to behave rationally so the marketplace can respond.
I’ve driven used cars my whole life, as as my dad (got my miser DNA from him). I can’t remember ever changing a bushing. Old cars and new cars eat tires, wear belts and brakes, and dirty fluids at the same rate so those are basically a wash with the older car maybe needing one extra set of tires/belt/brake pads over…
I’ve already had my beloved 2008 Subaru Legacy GT (RIP) totaled by an inattentive jackass who attempted to cross a 2 lane highway, while on the phone, and didn’t see me coming in broad daylight. I walked out of that 45-50 MPH impact nearly unhurt. It probably wouldn’t have been the same story if I was driving a car 15…
You get it! And for that, I gave you a star.
Our household income is about $150k. Wife drive’s a 2010 Camry and I drive a 200 E550 4matic. Benz was $12k when I bought it in may (50k miles!) and we bought the Camry off lease for $13k in 2013. People need to act their wage.
NASCAR wisely stepped away from the “stock” model once manufacturers started gaming the system to beat the rules with homologation specials, which led to complaints about rules, which led to entire teams and manufacturers boycotting entire seasons. It was a constant power struggle, from Mopar building those mega…
Needs more plastic cladding. How do I know it’s capable of driving on a smooth dirt road up to a picturesque cliff?
