First, read the article and watch the videos. If no, then think of it as a meteor slamming into the ground at high speed. Lots of kinetic energy.

When you’re being fired on by rounds with such high velocities, you can’t dodge or block them because you’ll never see them coming.

I don’t think you’re getting the amount of kinetic energy involved here. A hypersonic slug should impact like a damn warhead, and that’s without factoring in any explosive loads/shrapnel area effects. I’d love to see one of these videos showing the crater in whatever backstop they’re using. Although I think a lot of

You obviously didn't read the story, did you?

You know when they test weapons they are not thinking “ We are at war with steel plates so lets make sure we test it on steel plates just like the steel plates we fight on the battle field” right? Everything was explained in the article if you read it, literally every one of the concerns you have in your comment were

Speed is irrelevant. The problem is acceleration, which is tremendous. I would guess that its all solid state and significantly redundant.

In his JRPG form:

“This leads to the ascentionist belief that any harm done to a person was agreed upon prior by their soul during a contract signing with the other person’s soul and that they were, quite literally, “asking for it”, thus justifying any harm they can perpetrate against people”

BMI exists because 200 years ago a guy who knew very little about health - even by the primitive standards of the time, he was a mathematician - came up with a quick and easy formula to determine the obesity rate in the population. It’s a bizarre arbitrary formula that, for example, squares height in order to come up

6”3 and 190 would be like a stick figure. -Sincerely 5 foot 11 215 guy.

Right, but it fails below them, as well. I’m 6’2, 210-215. This places me well into the “overweight” category. You’ll have to take my word when I say that I am anything but.

All you need to do when someone talks to you about BMI is pick any professional athlete, google them, put their height/weight into the calculator, and shake your head at the stupidity.

It doesn’t matter if your wife cuts dairy out, though, breast milk is still substantially composed of lactose. If your daughter has become less gassy, that’s great; I’m just surprised your pediatrician suggested that. The article below is a pretty good summary of some of the myths/confusion around breastfeeding, if

I had the same problem when I went to the VA. I literally have heavy, big bones (think Neanderthal), 24” dia head, 7.5”wrist and knees as big as a 6 footer. My muscles are comparable. Once I had a water displacement test done and I was “underweight”’ for my height but only because I am dense as a brick. Lots of docs

Your daughter is lactose intolerant...so she’s breast fed? That makes zero sense.

The BMI system feels made for people who don’t lift. BMI says I’m overweight, and while I do have a bit of a dadbod I’ve had that since my teens. After starting some serious weight lifting at the gym I gained about 20kg of pure muscle mass in a few years.

BMI being ridiculous shouldn’t be hard to find support for. It is pretty widely regarded as silly. I’ve got 10% body fat and I’m “overweight” by that metric.

Thank you. I have been saying this for a long time. My wife has commented that my stomach has been a bit too big and that I weigh a lot more than I should (5’10” 210lbs), and BMI says I have been obese. My (super skinny & underweight) doctor has made similar comments. I’ve known I have had a large layer of stomach
