Sorry, but how would you have done that? The Soviet Union collapsed, but Russia never surrendered to anyone. I doubt that even in their most weakened state they would have played along.

A couple of thoughts:
The disparity between how the media has reported on Ukraine’s defense, in comparison to coverage of Arab resistance efforts like the Palestinian people’s desperate attempts to stave off Israel’s apartheid state, has also been a major conversation outside gaming.
My God dude, is it THAT difficult to refrain from your political stance for a month or so?
Holy crap, can you please not feed into the whataboutism? At least not yet?
I think she is C-3PO’s daughter. Once Leia and Han discovered this, they then sent Rey to Jakku. It ALL makes sense!
Don’t forget the Chewbacca’s bowcaster. It’s supposed to be so heavy only wookies can use and now Han is tossing it around one handed like it’s weightless. Plus, they’ve been together 60+ years and only NOW Han realizes it’s a powerful weapon??
I didn’t like it either. The worst part is, it’s hard to accept that I didn’t, I’ve been trying to convince myself that I did, in fact, like it but I don’t know it yet.
I kept thinking JJ and his rehashing of TWOK in 'Into Darkness'. Dude can't we get a new story? Death Star plot has been done already.
Unrelated but apropos — I think Terence Stamp slowly sitting down after Amidala calls for a vote of no confidence in Phantom Menace is the best acting in that entire film. And that’s like a 10-second shot. That’s a professional, George! That is a professional actor!
I freely admit that I’m butthurt that Ben Skywalker got tossed out with the rest of Legends, and think that Luke had a more important emotional connection to Obi-Wan than Han or Leia did.
The movie felt like a chore to me. The plot was pretty thin gruel, revolving around a “map” that belonged in an Indiana Jones movie, not a Star Wars episode. The constant callbacks to the original trilogy grew tiresome. It reminded me of Homer Simpson designing a car, “I want a horn here, here, and here,” but instead…
Amnesia is such a lame, lazy plot device though. If your story needs a character to have amnesia you need to go back and rework the story. The only time its acceptable is if you make that amnesia the central part of the story (like Borne Identity).
There was slo-mo when Luke fought not-Vader on Dagobah.
I think it’s safe to say this movie had a lot of problems. The plot being a rehash, the pacing, the lack of emotional damage to Finn, Han magically showing up on time, Rey having crazy fast power growth, the existence of a map with a missing fragment. How does that even make sense?! It was a huge chunk of the galaxy…
So, overall, I didn’t like it. It was too loud - if people weren’t screaming, running, jumping or acting like they were on speed, everything was drowning in music. It reminded me in that regard of the second Hobbit film.
My husband, the uber SW fan, had the biggest problem with R2 being in a power coma since Luke was gone and then waking up at the end of the movie. I think it’s b/c he could sense the Force in Rey. Husband thinks droids can’t feel the Force.
Well... at least, tonally, it looks to be a lot more faithful to the source material than Man of Steel was.
I can't help doubting your Star Wars acumen by omitting the prime source of Expanded Universe:
