Which is probably why Disney is hoping to sell it off/

It’s a co-production with Paramount and Paramount+ could probably use some kid friendly content to go with its Nickelodeon content.

It’s insulting, but it’s not new. A lot of pilots and series were created for linear television and never shown.

Honestly, this headline is misleading - In this case, they are explicitly looking to shop it around - probably to Paramount+ who was a co-producer and more content hungry.

I think a lot of the studios thought in house streaming was going to be their best move and retrospectively, licensing to others might have been the more profitable move.

Blue Beetle held better than I thought it was going to which may be a good sign for the character, but I have to think it may still be in a “great, but we’re not going to talk about it again” situation with the DCU.

It played before Barbie, which was the only reason I had seen it, tbh.

They seem to be starting to play with that with some shows again. They did that with High School Musical, which is one of their stronger performers. I think they are trying to see if it increases viewership and completion rates.

And to have Carrie having even less of a love life than she’s had so far on the reboot.

Agreed. It just seemed like such a purposeful point to make and I can’t imagine they are planning to have 5 years happen without a jump. Maybe they’ll wait til the end of Season 3 if it is planned to be the last.

I wonder if Season 3 will have a 5 year jump.

There is something to be said about the comic book approach of diversifying your content. I think the bigger flaw is not making more of it standalone. There are a lot of people who only like Cosmic comic nonsense and only read about street level heroes when there’s a team up. Plenty of people love the horror stuff.

I think it really does depend on what the films do for other revenue streams.

Onward was also only open for about a week because of lockdown.

The narrative that Pixar is in free fall is inaccurate and AV Club has enjoyed pushing that story. Elemental outperformed Spiderverse internationally. It made $458 million before any streaming revenue or any merch. It’s the #3 kids movie of the year according to The Numbers. It is doing well on PVOD.

I’m sure this article was written a few weeks ago, but surprised to not see a mention about Elemental’s overall box office. You mention it not making over $500 million, but leave out the part where it made $458 million and performed better internationally than Across the Spiderverse and it’s being reported that it has

The only correction I’d make is that Anthony has always been Charlotte’s friend first. He was her stylist on her first wedding so it would be super weird if he went to anyone besides his bestie.

Kinja doesn’t let you edit your response. I concede that the 1986 strike was one day. But at the same time, if he were still the host, he would be required to host the show. JUST LIKE KEN JENNINGS. So why should he let people single him out as doing something EVERY OTHER GAME SHOW HOST is also doing? He tweeted that

Trebek would be required to host the show during a SAG strike unless it was the News/Broadcast strike. Drew Carey is required to host during this SAG strike and will be hosting Primetime Price is Right. Wayne Brady will be hosting Primetime Let’s Make a Deal. Nick Cannon will be hosting Masked Singer.

Game show hosts, talk show hosts, news anchors and soap opera actors have a different SAG contract. They fall under News/Broadcast contract. The only contract that has expired is the TV/Theatrical contract. Game show hosts contract does not expire until next year. If the current strike was happening, Trebek would be
