I’ve been to the September 11 Museum in New York; it was kind of a horrific privilege, in that the place is as moving and tasteful and absolutely devastating as you could expect, and I’m grateful to have seen it and never want to go again. But my most vivid memory of the museum itself is of a section where footage of… Read more
I got a radical thought on that. I think he could play an interesting Reed Richards
I had a very minor version of this (not exactly the same but in the same neighborhood), treated with amount a month’s worth of radiation. My oncologist scared the hell out of me at the outset, making me think it was worse than it was but...I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. It’s all you can think about. You go to… Read more
I hear what you are saying but outside of actors who have sung before on this show I wasn’t expecting perfect pitch. I wasn’t bothered by them understandably lipsyncing. My biggest issues were about the heavy missteps in rhythm and flow. Read more
Even though he’ll always be Shitty Jimmy from You’re The Worst to me, I love Chris Geere too.
Also, in order to sell the plot, Evan has to read as believable as a high schooler. Because a high schooler doing what he does is bad but at least somewhat believable. An adult doing what he does is sociopathic. If his character reads as an adult, it cuts a lot of the audience’s sympathy for him. Read more
Oh yeah, he sounds gorgeous. Of course some people combined a certain casting choice (Jigger) in that production with their issues of the abuse as well...
yeah, of all the ones who have sort of broken free, I didn’t expect if of Jill. (i did expect it of Jinger, and I do think she’s probably low-key loving her life in LA) But Jill and Jessa both wear pants now! That’s, like, pretty huge in the Duggar world. And it looks like Jill realized pretty early on that she… Read more
It was only two weeks ago that they removed travel restrictions between Wales and England. You can understand not being super keen to make a 5-hour trip under the circumstances.
I came here to say Five Easy Pieces. I remember being transfixed by it.
I remember one night when I started to watch a horror flick called The Terror, and guess who trotted across the TV screen playing an officer in Napoleons army but none other than good’ole Jack.
I'm a massive fan of RKO 281. John Malchovich was perfectly cast. My love for that film, as well as Citizen Kane and the whole story of the production was why I was so excited and ultimately so letdown by Mank.
I would actually pay money to purchase a full version of “Everyone is Horrid Except Me (and Possibly You).” I was surprised it was so good, but Bret McKenzie makes sense of that.
Like Livia on Sopranos after the actress died!
That’s what I think is arguably the most damning part. A lot of people say “well, we didn’t know better” and it’s generally accepted, because they can’t change it. This is a show that’s still on the air and has an almost unprecedented opportunity to at least attempt to make amends.
