I think there’s a decent chance here that he’s mentally ill.

Alex Trebek hosted throughout the previous writer’s strike (and previous SAG strikes) and no one batted an eye. Game show hosts are in a different union and not allowed to strike in solidarity with the WGA.

I assume they monetized the podcast and had the random sponsorships (like wasn’t Teddy their sponsor at one point). I’m also willing to just shrug and be like “it’s TV and she’s doing doordash between episodes lol.”

I think it’s also that we’ve all looked the other way for way to long on the police brutality wrought by the Paw Patrol.

I usually assume if something is rated G that as an adult, I probably won’t like it because it has less depth. So I think PG has in some ways also made some adults assume it’s “better.”

Why is the show insisting on potential female killers like Loretta, Kimber, and Joy?

Magic talks to Cookie for a minute and says anyone married to him will also have to be married to the Lakers. Romantic! She’s not into it. But it’s also what my husband said to me.

I have admittedly never watched Riverdale and just absorbed it through the internet. Man, does it sound bonkers.

No, but SoCal has a large Latino population who this movie was being specifically targeted at and which was tracking quite well before the hurricane and earthquake situation.

They also just seem to have this ongoing goal of making it seem like the DCU is doing better than it is.

I’m sure there’s some validity that weather events can lead to reduced box office, but in this case, I think that narrative just makes it more surprising that AV Club seems to be doubling down on their idea that Blue Beetle would be inexplicably successful and not another disappointment.

It’s already WB’s highest grossing movie. I think at this point everything is gravy on what their expectations were for the movie and striking while the iron is hot.

I’ve been watching Elemental just because I’ve been fascinated by its whole release and it is still in theaters and expected to stay through Labor Day. It was released on streaming on August 15 and was 12th at the box office without much continued marketing so I imagine it becomes a win-win with Barbie potentially

I get that it was done for the pun of Beetle-mania, but every other legit industry paper has pointed out it was a very disappointing opening so much so that WB put out a memo blaming it on the hurricane, surprised to see no mention of any of that here.

I legit looked up the actor to see if he was ten years younger than I thought he was...But nope lol.

No, but they surely inflate their grades to keep their academic standing where they can play. In that way, they do care and in my experience, ultimately put a lot of athletes on the Dean’s List as a result.

Right, but I’m saying that I think you’re misinterpreting the quote.

So here is an excerpt from a lawyer writing on the subject:

I definitely agree that Disney are not the heroes here either, but I do think the potential precedent is frightening.

Yes, but there has been push back that they received $350,000 *each* vs. receiving $350,000 total. That’s what I was pointing out
