I don’t like Ross as a character, but Schwimmer’s performance (specifically his physical comedy abilities and his overall comedic timing) was fantastic. That’s something I’ve appreciated more on repeat viewings.

I always loved when Drew Carey tried to defend how his show was in no way like Friends. The comparisons between the two were largely overblown, but “a group of friends that splits much of their free time between the living space of one of them and hanging out in their favorite neighborhood drinking hole” fits both…

I’m not sure what the snarky reference to Schwimmer “forgetting” about “Living Single” (haven’t we all?) meant; was it just a gotcha? Because it sort of sounds like the writer’s saying “Friends” didn’t actually need any diversity because we already had that other show.

Nopen, the Living Single ladies match Golden Girls perfectly, same lady archetypes.

Everyone deserves better than Ross.

Considering the only way new characters ever got introduced to that show was by sleeping with, or being related to one of the Friends, there probably weren’t a lot of other options. It still feels yucky though. All those women were too good for Ross anyways. They deserved better.

I liked Ross at the time the show was on. Then I re-watched many years later and found his character was pretty mean and controlling, especially to Rachel about her job and interests. You think fashion is stupid. Fine. Don't be a smug dick about it though.

I was running late for a train once. But I was really hungry. So I ran into Trader Joes and grabbed two bags of dried apples. And I ate them on the train. So I had to sit there for 2 hours on a train while feeling the gas developing.
