How often do you see police actively investigate a $35 robbery with very little chance of resolution? I agree with you, but I can see where she didn’t think law enforcement was an option.

Yup. And now the last-name-as-first-name thing is trendy all over the nation.
So pleased it’s helping you! (And I say this as a devoted viewer who has no connection to CXG beyond watching every week. ;)
And one of my favorite puns, courtesy of a Bugle podcast episode celebrating the economic upturn after the recession.
Do you watch Crazy Ex-Girlfriend? I wouldn’t begin to presume what BPD is like for you, but I’ve seen several people with it say that the show portrays the disorder really accurately and sympathetically.
I recently went to an Atlanta United game (vamos!), and I started looking for some coworkers who are huge fans and members of the various Supporters’ groups. I described them to my friend: “Uh, they’re tall, late thirties, medium build, light brown hair, scraggly beards... just like every single generically-decent-look…
I’m using Firefox, and when I load the main page of all the GMG sites, I see pictures but no text, kind of like the whole page is spoiler text.
IMO, that describes both podcasts. They started with fairly good ideas, but wow, they went on way too long and became insufferable. I gave up a year or two ago.
I binged all of NCIS during one boring summer, and I finally had to give up about halfway through the run. The characters were just so unlikable and mean to each other, particularly how they bullied, uh, the dorky guy? Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the sunshine of Parks & Rec, but NCIS just left me feeling angry and sad.…
The NYT article explains that the $9.5M figure was based on the money she would likely have earned if her employment had carried on for four years. The producers had apparently mapped out (and documented) a four-season arc for her character, that would have made her a second-lead by the end. That could have easily…
I am old, so I have no idea who any of those people/groups are. But I would totally support Belinda Carlisle during halftime, belting out “Heaven Is a Place on Earth”.
I just wish the Globes had a television screenplay award, so that Phoebe Waller-Bridge could be nominated.
Hmm. I could buy into that conspiracy theory. And yes, Colman must win everything, including but not limited to the Nobel Prize in Physics and possibly the Paris-Dakar road rally.
Funny how Maisel S2 was released yesterday, just in time for it to be fresh in the Globes voters’ minds....
The creepiest thing is that students were instructed to call and respond to one another and Landry with “I love you” in multiple languages.
Yup! And all these fancy colleges accepted scores from an unaccredited school.
Good point. Perhaps move toward a pass/fail or basic/proficient/exemplary leveling system, where the actual numbers don’t matter as much.
I read the Thrillist story a couple of weeks ago and thought it was a fascinating little gem of What Do We Owe To Each Other.
Yeah. I’ve been listening since the first few episodes (I’m not boasting street cred but rather that I have no life and listen to way too many true crime podcasts.) I can deal with their humorous, irreverent smile even if it’s not my thing, because so many people do love it. I don’t even mind that they boast of not…
