He’s whip smart (or has a good research team)

Susan Rice has hinted that she might consider running for Collins’ seat.  Any idea of the odds that 1) Rice might actually do that, and 2) Rice might actually win?

Yup. If you go by the “your house should be three times your annual salary” rule, then you’d need to make $175,000/year to afford that house. Sure, some young people make that kind of money, but not all that many.

Reminds me of all the commenters on Curbed Atlanta who insist that a $300K one-bedroom townhouse near downtown is “totally affordable!”

Really? Because he did a ton of similar stuff before that Black Mirror episode. I shall always adore him for Landry, and plenty of people will hate him for being, er, whatever the evil little psychopath’s name was on Breaking Bad.

Can’t remember exact quotes, but I saw several critics compare this to Driving Miss Daisy, which was enough for me to say no, thanks.

The only time I’ve ever experienced bedbugs was at one of those cheap Disney World All-Star motels about ten years ago.

Perfect deployment of Tammy 2.  Kudos.

Yup, I *hate* that NYT Cooking has gone to a separate subscription. I am one of the few suckers who actually pays for the Times*. Why aren’t the recipes included in my monthly bill? Sheesh.

FWIW, Lucy McBath was just declared the winner of GA-6. She ran on a strong gun-control/safety message, and she’s a former spokeswoman for Moms Demand Action and Everytown.  She was elected in a very strong historically-GOP district in metro Atlanta.  So yes, it IS possible.  (Disclaimer: I spent most weekends in

I canvassed for her every weekend in October, and I am absolutely over the moon. She is an amazing woman.

Georgia roll call!

Did you hear about Ted Metz’s “joke” that he’d withdraw from the race if someone would pay his medical bills?  I can’t pull up Twitter on my work computer, but here’s a link to the news article:

Yesterday I canvassed for Lucy McBath in GA-6. MiniVAN gave us a list of independent or likely Democratic registered voters, so we were able to stay away from the hardcore Republicans. Still, we had several people who would just give us these coy, uncomfortable looks as they replied, “Yes, I plan to vote on Tuesday,”

As long as he stays away from zodiac symbols, he’ll probably turn out okay.

Tan France!? Great pull, Bloom.

He’s the guest on this week’s podcast (along with Rebecca Hazlewood!), and it’s fun to hear him and Marc Evan Jackson go back and forth about how they’re often competing for the same roles.

My friend (who’s a stay-at-home-mom) has at theory that for some — but not all! — SAHMs, complaining about how busy and exhausted they are is actually them being defensive and trying to justify their choices to others they perceive as being critical of their stay-at-home-mom-hood.

Hi, neighbor! This weekend I’m going to do some more canvassing for Lucy McBath, even though I live just outside her district. The race between her and (the odious) Karen Handel is closer than anyone expected. If you have a bit of time or money, they can use more help!
