Yeah... the horror we all feel looking at that still from the show is pretty much exactly the horror we all felt looking at actual pictures of him at the end of his life, right? I kinda want to put this in the *shrug* category.

By 2001 Michael jackson had much more in common physically with a white man than any black man due to all the surgeries...this seems like manufactured outrage

There’s no black person (really no person, full stop) who looks like late-stage Michael Jackson.

This is what they’d have to pass as.

When he died, Michael Jackson was trying to pull together a film in which he would star as Edgar Allen Poe (novelist, pedophile, and white person). Frankly, he’d love that a white actor is playing him.

White MJ + 9/11? No.

I actually loved Natalie in Black Swan but yes, Mila’s performance in that film was great and underrated. I think the contrast in their acting styles worked perfectly for the film because it was the actual performance styles of their characters.

I don’t think you have to like Natalie Portman to think this is shit. If we only care about women we approve of getting equal pay, the wage gap will never close.

I disagree, however, this is definitely the classiest insult I shall see this week. Well played.

Natalie Portman is beautiful but is the most wooden actor of our time. I feel as though she could be made into an armoire.

I have really appreciated that Ashton Kutcher is fading away from the film industry. Now if only we could convince Justin Timberlake to do the same....

Every time there’s a Dirt Bag item about French Montana, I misread it as French Stewart, which makes them much funnier.

Warren didn’t make millions of dollars or center her career on that false identity, and when called out on it, she said she was wrong. Do you really not see the difference?

Except that I think you’re characterizing the “some people”/”bunch of howlers” criticizing on Boyden Twitter are “outsiders,” and for that reason should not get a voice in this conversation. But a LOT of the people on Twitter who have been keeping this issue alive in the media ARE indigenous people. So why are we not

Yeah, me too. It’s some middle aged lady finding out her great great great great uncle was Italian and she is like, “I always wondered why I liked spaghetti so much!”

I found this commentary useful.

There was a great segment on the CBC not that long ago about (lets face it, white) people taking DNA tests and then suddenly identifying as partially non-white/”ethnic”/nonsense. Like, “I thought I was white but I am of Icelandic and Aboriginal and Persian decent.” It was pretty hilarious.

Indigenous identity is not about DNA. This is what aggravates me so much about those fucking DNA-Ancestry commercials where people find out they’re “Native American” (just that, not what tribe, or clan, or anything else), and suddenly they’re pulling dreamcatchers out of their ass.

“I don’t see the problem here....”
