Kristen Wiig. Joan Cusack. James Marsden (such excellent eye candy, I can leave my Raisinets at home!). I WILL SEE THIS PLEASE

Finally, one thing America is better at than Canada! Take that, socialized medicine and responsible gun laws!

But he has the perfect solution - ignore all women so that no woman ever has to date him! We're safe!

I understand, and I feel sorry for her that this was leaked. Still, to me, the letter shows a lack of maturity and good judgment, which are essential qualities for a victim advocate to have. If she needs more time to grow up and realize her mistake (what a lot of other commenters are saying), that's fine, but then

Agreed. Maybe it wasn't very nice to leak this cover letter, but the comparison is foolish and demeaning. This woman seems well-intentioned, but genuinely wanting a job doesn't mean you'll be good at it. Victims deserve better from an advocate.

Women don't go to lunch! We laugh alone with salads.

The reform effort also needs to include safeguards for the reproductive rights of surrogates. I can easily imagine scenarios where the surrogate would want to abort (risk to her own health, for example) and the biological parents would be resistant, or where the parents would try to get the surrogate to sign away her

this needs to be a Lifetime movie, like, right now

Happens in the US, too. In the Marlise Muñoz case in Texas, her husband was able to honor her wishes, but only after fighting a court battle. The state has a law that "lifesaving measures" have to be used on a pregnant woman, even if it's against her stated wishes. It's so disturbing to see women being legally

no mpreg involving members of One Direction??? 0/0 WILL NOT READ

Inner goddess casting suggestion:

no joke, I know someone who has this framed and hanging on his living room wall.

Damn, I totally missed that. Good catch.

The patriarchy hurts men, too!!! (JK, but only sort of...) I think that pressure also rebounds on women, because if you're not "experimenting" enough, it means you're not a Cool Girl, you're sex-negative, a prude. Do your thing, get your freak on, etc - but don't pressure other people into going beyond their comfort

Thankfully, many reproductive healthcare clinics across the country have volunteer escorts (not just PP clinics), although not all do. At my organization, men are allowed and encouraged to volunteer! If you're interested, you should definitely look into a clinic escort group in your area and see if you can join.

I truly feel sorry for teenage girls in hardcore pro-life families/communities, because they don't have the opportunity or maturity to truly assess the issue for themselves yet, but they are a population at high risk for unplanned pregnancy, and at a time in their lives when that can be really disastrous.

Sadly, I think you're right. I'm a volunteer patient escort at a local Planned Parenthood, and during the peak protest times (Roe anniversary, 40 Days for Life) we get busloads of CHILDREN coming to the clinic to bemoan the evils of abortion. Like, I'm definitely going to change my mind on reproductive rights because

My beagle is definitely not obedient enough for a government job, but I will still be calling him Lieutenant Beagle now, because that's adorable.

It doesn't apply to any male contraception. The HHS website says sterilization procedures are covered under the contraception mandate, so it's definitely worth bringing up with your doctor and/or insurance company!
