Nope, do not expect trains to be on time during winter. They can be affected by cold and snow just as bad, since the signals and track switchers can freeze. Also, Amtrak is 2nd fiddle to freight trains, so even if you can move, you get stuck waiting for freight trains if it's down to a single track.

I'm at a similar point with my track day toy. It's still very much a street car I can drive there and usually back home. But my driver skill is way beyond it, especially on a safety standpoint.

Just about every track day up there is over the weekend. Or if you have one of those jobs that makes you work weekends, there also are some during the week, usually just before or after a big race weekend. RA is my home track, so I'm up there a lot.

This isn't meant to dissuade you from getting on a track, but rather the contrary. Ask the tough questions of any group you want to run with now so that your weekend goes as flawlessly as possible.

Hrmm... Interesting. I'm glad I already did the waiting and have his autograph, because the line this season at Road America was completely ridiculous. Just the general crowds around his area made it hard to walk around. I did enjoy hearing many guys going "uhh, what's the big deal?" when seeing the crowds.

But once you have an iPhone, there really isn't ground breaking changes between them when you update. Especially on the basic level stuff older folks tend to use. It's not hard to go from a 4 to a 6, everything moves over on the cloud.

It's really no different from Uber. You rate the driver afterwards, and can make comments on how they were. The driver also rates you as a passenger. I know that if a driver drops below 4.6/5 they can't drive anymore.

Use Lyft! Uber isn't the only company out there...
