Little Black Coupe Turned Silver

Not to mention every track out as well...

That... wouldn't really do anything. The cars have no problems related to starting.

Last track day I was at was black flagged on first lap due to someone taking out some of the wall. I didn't even leave the grid (was a smidge late getting going) and people were coming back in.

Last sessions are generally tiny, since most people throw them away and won't push themselves.

Sounds good. I'm the girl with the Cobalt, hard to miss me. I have a feeling I'll know your instructor, he's the FWD-guru so always gets paired with one.

I was in Florida at a BBQ place, and they offered a massive to-go cup of pop when we were paying the bill. I had no idea that was a thing, and of course I said yes. But alcohol? Umm. Seems sketchy.

It is indeed. See you there! I'll be up there the weekend before for the vintage races also.

This breaks my heart, and also terrifies me. About 95% of my friends at track day are instructors, and they all have stories of students who gave them a good scare. Some of them have been involved in accidents, including one of my best friends. They all say I could be at a level to start instructing next season,

The track day community is the best out there, hands down. I've met my closest car friends, as well as some of my closest friends period while at track days.

Are you doing the track day in July at RA? Just wondering, I'm doing one there then also...

Or they had the kids first and then got married...

So with all of this, I think it's interesting that the 08+ Cobalts have a known problem of not being able to turn the car off... GM: either your Cobalt will turn off for no reason, or you can't turn it off.

I own a Cobalt. Performance? Ring lap time of 8:22. Mazda3? 8:39.

Because you made it sound like they were leaving the road for some other reason, and then the car got turned off. These new layout can make it hard to follow threads... Bleh.

Uh, no. My Cobalt has turned off twice with my knee lightly hitting the steering column. Once while I wasn't moving, and once going 75 on the Interstate. This is a problem.

I have a Cobalt and lost my power steering while at speed, at Road America. I was making a left turn, and ended up in the grass since I couldn't overcome the sudden lack of assist.

No, you have that backwards. The ignition switch can easily be bumped to acc or off, which can cause a collision due to the lack of power steering and brake assist.

My friend has one, I've gone on some rides in it around Road America at track days. I'm 99% sure he has upgraded the front pads, but yes, you feel like you're just going to start rolling end over end sometimes. Especially going into 5 when it's downhill.

I know. I already received my official recall notice from GM. That's why I said I received mail from dealers and not recall notices from dealers... Since the article says this was a postcard from a dealer, I'm guessing the family received sometime similar. Nothing to do with GM, everything from a local dealer

Completely horrible episode. I've been hoping they really find their own and succeed, but not anymore. Nopenopenope.
