No, tell them the truth. Universal healthcare is cheaper for the public than paying for health insurance is.

This is why you tell them that they won’t have to pay health insurance first, then tell them that their taxes will go up, but not by as much as their health insurance used to cost. Do you really think people are that stupid?
Way too low.
Plus, Bernie’s new proposals - the ones he released two hours before last Saturday’s debate - that they admitted raises taxes on everybody isn’t a winner either.
Have you actually looked at the proposal and the tax rates? Most people would be saving money. I’ve had no trouble selling people on Medicare-for-All, even with people who seemed hostile at first.
Who’s Berine?
Yeah, it’s not like any other country has been able to adopt social democratic politics.
Polling shows that Medicare-for-All is more popular than the ACA.
YES, taxes are raised, BUT people won’t have other costs to bear. How is the premium argument bullshit if it’s one of his centerpiece campaign issues? It’s called social democracy.
It doesn’t really raise “taxes” if it eliminates the premiums people already pay through their employers, and overall lowers costs. It just shifts the form of payment.
Sigh. Math is hard for people. “So I pay an extra 5K in taxes with this plan. But I was paying 10K in healthcare costs that will now go away... TAKING ALL MY MONIES BERN?!”
Hiding the debates or having fewer debates helps no one. Not Hillary, not Bernie.
Nah, this is supposed to be a coronation. She is still banking on people being willing to vote for the lesser evil of Hillary rather than stand on principle and say that the problem with voting for a lesser evil is you still get an evil. I for one am sick of doing that, from now on it is no voting for evil lesser or…
It’s really starting to weird me out how concentrated/contrived these simple thumbs up motions keep seeming (like her air guitar/banjo on “Ellen”).
...when negotiations between the DNC and the Dem campaigns over the debate schedule got underway in earnest, the Clinton camp’s preference was to have only four debates, one in each of the early contest states of Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina...
There is this weird American attitude that I have yet to encounter somewhere else that if you are from a traditionally cold place, the cold shouldn’t bother you, and like Marshall and Robin in HIMYM, you should be able to wear shorts and eat ice cream in the middle of a blizzard. I remember pulling on my big down coat…
Fighting or no, when a friend goes out like that, you follow and bring them back. Or at least take them a coat if you can’t get them back in.
I live in Maine. I often marvel at the women in Portland that wear exactly such warm-weather clothing (shorts, stockings, tank tops, skirts, etc) on nights with exactly such chilly weather conditions.
The only people this discourages are people who don’t know how tax brackets work.
