My husband and I share a car and work different schedules in opposite directions. I ride my bike a couple days a week and since DLS ended on my way home I have the choice between riding in the street and risking cars or riding on the bike path and risking people lurking in the park. I choose the cars mainly because I

Your boss would care real quick if his ass got handed a lawsuit for failure to protect his employees. What a dick.

Good luck! He might learn from you :)

Can you ask for an escort out to your car? You have a legitimate concern.

Maybe I am psychic, but I am thinking your boss is generally a shit boss, right? Because people who respond to employees concerns about their safety in that way are probably totally inept at all aspects of people management. I am sorry you are going through this. It is not OK.

This is horrifying. I have no other words

This story bothered me too. The audacity of this asshole to kill this woman because she didn’t want to be bothered. So we don’t have the right to chose who we talk to now? Maybe she was afraid to acknowledge this moron in a dark garage for fear of what he might do? I guess she was right......

I was gonna say; both Fleabag and the Broad City women are an absolute delight. I wouldn’t consider them ‘unlikeable.’

Unlikable to men

I can’t speak to Hannah Horvath as I never watched Girls, but I never thought of any of the other characters you mentioned as ‘unlikeable’ at all. Messy? Hell yea, but I think that makes them more relatable. I think each of the shows these characters are on explore how they have good hearts but make mistakes,

I was under the impression that most of the women characters you cited are more like “sometimes messy, refreshingly human, and thus very relatable and likeable”? I don’t really know anything about this woman’s art, but framing it as “ugh, just another terrible TV woman” is kind of weird.

Wait. Were we not supposed to like those women? Because I want each one to be my ride or die.

That’s great! A nice meal where you only have to take your own personal preferences into account is nice!

My dad, the best dad ever, passed away this week after bravely battling pancreatic cancer for over a year. We’d known for a month or two that there was only the tiniest chance that he’d survive more than a few months, but still, it happened so fast. Four weeks ago, he was at my wedding eating cake and making the

I got fired from my first job out of college. Found a new job a month later, and got fired from that. Took another 8 or so months to find another job... and got fired from that one, too. (One was my fault, one was not, one I should not have been hired for in the first place.) After the third, I said “Fuck thiiiiiiis”

Hi all,

I volunteered while looking for a new job and it was a big confidence boost. I also quit the culture sector bc of harassment (bullying) and appealed the EI restrictions. When the employer learned that I was willing (and brave enough) to meet them at the appeals office they agreed to the terms, because bullies are also

Hey everyone! I got back from my trip from Japan last weekend and am here to share my trip report and pics. It was an amazing but exhausting two weeks. We had so much good food (lots of fresh seafood, beef, street food and ramen), good drink (lots of sake and Japanese whisky, which is so smooth and sippable), and good

Shelter Catstravaganza!

Not entirely sure what all that means (American here), but I’m pouring you a virtual big glass of cheap wine.
