Right, I completely agree. Even if the writer of that letter over-reacted at first, that his partner’s response was to cover her tracks MORE and tell him LESS is a massive red flag.
So, you sound like someone who is still dealing with some serious mental illness stuff. I hope you feel better, but I am not sure you should be commenting about other people’s issues until you have gone a year without these worrisome thoughts. It is not normal to think these things, and I hope you get help for that.
The first letter writer states that he has an eating disorder. Do you seriously think that people with anorexia are “just whiny”? I mean, sure, it’s one of the most lethal mental illnesses out there, but I guess all those people just whined themselves to death. Man, screw off.
The thing is, this guy is more likely dealing with clinical body dysmorphia rather than the general insecurity that everyone has about their looks. While the advice given could be helpful, I think the guy would do better with some intensive psychotherapy.
