If the body "intended" for people to run barefoot/minimalist, why is every track record and road racing record set in a pair of shoes? Your body doesn't "intend" to do anything. Just because your body works well barefoot doesn't mean it can't work better with shoes.

The difference is that you've worn shoes your whole life. Kenyans, on the other hand, grow up in remote, hilly regions far from the realm of men. Being a simple folk - more concerned with the planting of crops and brewing of ails than the world of politics and magic - Kenyans spend most of their time outside. Over

I'm not saying you can't. I'm saying its not worth it. You're changing your entire running form just so you can be able to jog 3 (maybe) miles on concrete to burn a few hundred calories. Not to mention the possible issues with changing your form... So where is the real benefit from all this? You run more efficiently

Saying you were "born" to run barefoot, is like saying you were only born to heat yourself with fire...we were BORN to adapt, create, and innovate, that is why we used tools instead of fingers, wear coats when it's cold and why even the most primitive ancestors know that protecting your feet was so important, they

if you are being sarcastic, you should stop being so taciturn and indicate it in the comments!

But they are not running in racing flats, they are racing in racing flats. And they are not pretty much the same thing.

I am really glad it worked out for you. The key to running for 99% of people is to get healthy and fit.

yes we should all retun to those halcyon days when human life span was about 30 years

"My ancestors shit outside, so I should shit outside."

You're also on the Paleo diet, aren't you.

I LOVE this logic- our ancestors millions of ears ago didn't wear shoes to run so why should we? Shoes aren't natural!!! Yeah, neither are eye glasses, we should be more natural and give those up.

As a Kenyan and as a runner, I can comfortably call bullshit on this. 30 years ago, young poor kids in the rural areas perhaps. But TODAY in high school track and the elite army and police teams (where most Kenyan elite runners come from) do not run barefoot, they have Nike and Adidas/Asics etc deals. And they win

I have no reason to hate these shoes or the people wearing them; but I really hate these shoes and anyone who wears them.

You don't have a right to privacy when it comes to public opinion. The NBA is not part of the government, and it's an organization whose bylaws give the 30 owners a lot of leeway in how they deal with you. If you do something they don't like, well, that's too bad, you don't get to own a team.

He could have sold anytime in recent memory and made that exact same boatload. He didn't, because he wanted to own the team. Now he can't.

...Well knock me over with a feather. I can safely say that I did not see that coming.

there's this whole fucking gigantic megachasm of a difference between seeing eye-to-eye with somebody and treating an entire gender as a replaceable commodity based on how well you can control them

High-five to her, then.

Who cares if she's leading him on. She exposed him for his bullshit.

I'm seeing a lot of people saying "Why is this a problem?".
