>No he’s speaking of the democratic establishment. The voters who didn’t support him.

You still have had FAR more privilege in your life as a white feminist, than I, as a multiracial, feminist, disabled woman who supports Bernie.

Or they can vote by mail like civilized states do.

Wow.  I’m not sure talking you down from quitting is in your best interests.  I had a job like that once, and ended up pretty close to a nervous breakdown.  When I changed jobs they replaced me with a team of 12, including a Senior Manager and two Managers.  But I couldn’t get a promotion.

Love seeing you on Jezebel Bernie!!

You want to hear something insane?  This year, all Health Insurance plans that cover ACA (Obamacare) are required to send a separate invoice to all it’s ACA members for Hyde services.  Yep, you’ll get two bills every month; one for your standard medical coverage and a separate invoice for whatever the health plan

You are. You’re asking us to be, or more importantly, SOUND pleased. You’re saying “Fine, whatever, now fall in line and STOP WHINING.”

We get it. Possibly better than you do. COVID-19 is tearing apart the tattered remains of our social safety nets, and threatening to drag half the population down with them, the planet’s burning, and the current administration is stealing everything not nailed down and trying to strangle democracy.

...or to make up for the staff’s potential loss in pay. The “...tip generously! And don’t forget to throw a little extra in for the culinary team and dishwashers” comment is ridiculous.

As a restaurant manager I don’t perceive it as the responsibility of the customer to make sure a restaurant stays open

From not spending all our taxes on useless wars, and taxing more, and more justly. And from every worker pitching in in case it happens. We make less money than you technically, but it’s well compensated by free education and healthcare and regulations.

Because the big scary government takes care of you. Just like Italy has halted mortgage payments in light of the crisis going on there. People always yell about Europe’s high taxes. But they don’t realize that high taxes go to cool shit like that. Never mind you get to retire at a reasonable age and get compensated

“Why would they become productive members of society again after being fired when they could just sit at home for 2 years?”

Where does the money come from though?

From the government and is collected by taking a small percent of each paycheck from employees and employers (2.4% from employees, 4% from employers). It’s the same as collecting unemployment in the US, but European countries (generally) have a longer eligibility period.

“Where does the money come from though?”

In part from not giving the rich continuous tongue baths at tax time for the past four decades.

Well I can’t speak for France, but generally speaking, out of tax revenue. Usually you have both higher personal and business taxes, but also by not having stupid policies like we do here in the US that give out massive subsidies to energy companies for no reason, and by not wasting luscious amounts of money on vanity

Businesses pay into a general fund for unemployment benefits. Same everywhere in the world.

You also can’t just “stay on unemployment”, at least in the US. You have to actively prove you are looking for work or they take away your benefits.

The benefit France is providing is *up to 2 years* of unemployment, not a

I have another point you guys should think about:
Vote socialist. It might not help this time, but for the next one...

I’m in France, where shit is already hitting pretty hard, and the rules are pretty simple:

As long as the business is working, you can’t fire your employees. So no preventive firings.
And if the business
