For a variety of reasons, I do not think what is happening in Iowa is not a conspiracy, and a vocal segment of Sanders supporters are uniquely prone to believing absurd conspiracy theories. BUT, the events of the past few days are tailor made for conspiracy, and it’s easy to see how Sanders supporters see one here.

“You are a selfish asshole for considering healthcare a human right and wanting candidates to recognize that as well.”  What a weird fucking thing to say.

Man, don’t sprain anything with that reach or *you’ll* need universal healthcare.

Oh God, get the fuck over yourself. Yes, voting for all people to have healthcare is just like voting for Trump. Sure, edgelord.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buttigieg concerns me primarily because he’s one of the “everything is more or less fine” candidates (Biden is another). He’s smart and clean cut and soothing and he’s not going to rock any boats. You could probably stop thinking about politics every day under a Pete administration, like how it was under Obama.

Let's slowly half ass it to our goal! Spread it out over decades! That's the spirit!

M4A is a non-starter with people who profit from our shitty health care system. That is not most people. The idea of M4A is popular enough to be politically viable. A politician just needs to be willing to put in the work of selling it. You know, a politician’s job.

I don’t think anyone is expecting an immediate switch to single payer, but it’s nice to have a candidate who at least acknowledges that that *is* the goal. Shoot for the moon and land among the stars, etc. Republicans will fight anything, so at least we could get a half measure of the full distance instead of a half

Thanks for the herbacious take.

Of course Pete Buttigieg pandering to middle (aka white) America worked in Iowa. Once they realize he is gay they will drop him like that Iowa caucus woman voter who melted down when she heard he was gay. Sadly, this is the deplorable demographic his campaign has been courting. Meanwhile they smeared the black

Maybe, and stay with me here, what we want is a politician who signals that they are able and willing to fight for what they consider is right, and to make the case for what it is right to the people they want to be elected to lead, not just to reflect back to people what is currently the popular position or what the

lolololol

Every cycle we seem to get at least one candidate who serves as a receptacle for whatever views “undecided” people want to project on to them. The difference with PB is that he consciously set out to be that candidate and is doing everything he can to hoover up this projection.

Americans can’t get out of their own way. The mythical Obama->Trump->Any Democrat voter is a mythical creature, and chasing that vote is a fool’s errand.

Healthcare as a universal right? You’d never see me live in a country that supported such evil socialism!

Fucking Pete. Buttigieg.

At this point, they really shouldn’t have released the results until they had 100%.

Yes, because a few hundred hippies that isolated themselves in communes couldn’t get shit done 50 years ago we should just give up on having ideals. Makes total sense.

“We Boomers couldn’t do anything so just give up.”
