Yeah, I mean it does help that most of the Union generals he faced were incompetent. But McClellan’s Peninsula/Richmond Campaign was not a success, and much of it was to do with tactics of the Confederates. I wonder if McClellan were able to capture Richmond the war would have been shorter.

Lee was a great general, as well as most of those things on your list. He chose his state above the US government. He was a traitor to his country, and he basically surrendered because he ran out of bodies.

Great point.

You do realize that we’re not arguing that they can’t be cross examined, but that their past drinking habits or sexual history has no bearing on the case, right?

Love that the rule of law only applies to everyone but the people in charge.

That’s gross. I hate people.

I don’t get offended at all, I’m made of tougher shit.”

that long? Good god its like he was just waiting to explode with this shit.

IF you’re even convicted. Sexual assault cases have the lowest rates of conviction because of all same attitudes that the first commentator has encapsulated with their ‘correction’ of my post.

So they just literally changed the name of the fort to include the “at Bdote” and they’re freaking the fuck out? Christ that’s fucking petty.

That’s what the dad of the son who assaulted an unconscious woman in Stanford essentially said. Despite the fact that the members of the women’s swim team thought he was a creep, and experienced predatory like behavior.

They’re using trans-people as a boogie man here (in the language of the policy), so it makes it more palatable for those who would be more receptive to women’s reproductive health.

If you, as a health care profession can’t leave your religion at home while you are providing services to people who may not have your exact same beliefs, then you, personally are unfit to be in the field. If you can’t do an abortion because of religious beliefs, fine, but dammit give the number of a doctor who can.

Don’t both parties go up in front of panels? I understand why they don’t allow for cross examination in TitleIX reports - the accused and accusers don’t have lawyers going in with them - I would not be comfortable with an accused individual being able to do any cross examination. I’d imagine it’ll be traumatizing and

Yay! Let’s make it harder for law enforcement to earn the trust of people of color. Nothing says “Trust us with your lives” like arresting someone for reporting a crime.

Exactly - and the reason why they don’t allow for sexual history to be allowed is that it helps paint the picture of “the woman gets around a lot, so there’s no way she’d say ‘no’.” It’s part of the strategy of shifting the focus of the accused person’s actions in that particular case to the life of the accuser. Its

Fuck this dude and his shitty ass kid. Kid fucked up, and instead of the parent saying, “Son, this is why you were accused”, we get, “My son’s a perfect angel - It’s the slut’s fault for tempting him.”

Stay weird, Japan. Stay weird.
