“to cross-examine sexual assault survivors about their drinking habits or sexual history.”

India had a prime minister in the 70's and then 80's before she was assassinated. This is all as we’re even debating on whether or not a woman can be a leader.

I think that’s what her main point is - yes, we fucked up, but that attack didn’t just kill the US soldiers there. And I think she finds issue with the label of “terrorist attack”, the attack was certainly a surprise, though I don’t think it would be a terrorist attack.

Yeah, I mean, I can be dense sometimes, but dang this is just plain obtuse.

I do wish people weren’t so sensitive to that, especially when you see, say the Amish coming into town in their conservative, homespun dress. No one thinks twice about them doing that, and it should be the same for Muslims -Muslim women seem to be seen as needed to be saved from the ‘horrible’ religion, but also draw

This is the attitude that I try to explain in a different article. Muslims are automatically othered if they show it in public. If there isnt an immediate outcry or apology from the community for a terrorist attack, then its somehow the whole community’s fault.

#notallterrorists

The way I understand it, that particular mission was not humanitarian in nature. They were meant to capture 2 lieutenants of Aididi, one of the leaders viing for power. What happened in the aftermath of the black hawk being shot down was a true shitshow. The Clinton administration was rightfully criticized for it.

Here’s my serious answer: i wouldn’t buy cause that shit doesn’t make sense at all. Like you’re implying they’re the rope in this little scenario

It’s one of the things I hear about a lot in my hometown (which has a lot of people who watch fox news). My parents subscribe to the light version of this: “Why don’t they just assimilate?” Which is to say - don’t be a Muslim in public.

Yeah - I can tell that the blue-collar folks might hold it against her because she’s a smart person. But hopefully her blue collar beginnings will outweigh that - cause frankly, she got to where she is because she’s smart and she works hard. She’s also not afraid to say that she was given an opportunity because of her

She’s already being branded as an extremest because she’s a Muslim. To most people, you cannot be loyal to Islam and to the US. Which is ludicrous thinking. It all but guarantees that people who look like her will never be able to hold federal positions.

It’s almost like she was sitting on this stuff for a while, getting it to as close to what she thinks is perfect then going “TA-DA!” I love it and I also love that she can explain stuff a less jingoistic manner.

Playing the long game, I see.

I don’t fucking care how it goes, I just want it gone earlier so I can start saving for retirement.

Christ, I don’t want anyone to have to go through having crushing debt at age 23 or 26 for their education, in a job market that could just die one day.

Christ, this shit is terrible. Yet, nothing is going to be done to try to mitigate this stuff from happening.

Yup. My response to most people when they pull this shit - don’t be an asshole, then people won’t tell you you’re being one. Simple really.

Oh, I know they get it - they just like to be obtuse jackasses which makes it worse.

Translation: “I have no substantive policy of my own to show for my running, so I am going to attack the scary brown skinned people with lady parts, and *gasp*actual policy ideas.”
