Yeah, I think that is the only reason why Obama commuted Manning’s sentence. Manning certainly should have been put away for what she did, but the shit the prisons did to her? Nope.

I thought that was interesting, especially since it tied into how Boomers view researchers and scientists. Like anyone who has more education on a certain topic than they do - like climate scientists - are automatically dismissed for being too educated, like they don’t know what the real world is like.

I just finished the audio book, and I’m glad I did. I dislike how younger generations get shat on, when much of the stuff that has been happening was a result of Boomer stewardship. The book is dense but full of really interesting interpretations behind policy decisions.
