That’s what I don’t get. Yes the flooding is bad in Iowa, but the hurricane blew apart tons of infrastructure, then the flood waters came. There was nothing left to help stop the flooding. It was a one-two punch that sends most places reeling.

I hate that this is true. I’ve seen religion do so much good. But people more often use it as a way to discriminate against those who they deem undesirable. I wish there was more of the former.

Interesting. I can see that, there’s a lot of wrath in the Bible.

All very true. Its almost like shit people use religion as a hammer to pummel others with so they can get away with horrific crimes.

Or many other Christian sects. I’m thinking like the FDS and the like. Especially those groups who advocate against(and sanction violence against) LGBT folks but would turn a blind eye to a prominent member sexually abusing people.

I think he wouldve lost whatever political capital he had. They already accused him of pulling the race card when he criticized the institutions that helps perpetuates police brutality against minorities.

Problem is that Hannity and Carlson are the faces of the network. They get the most views and the most money. Wallace and Shep Smith are regulated to afternoon stuff and Sunday shows.

It wasn’t too long ago that people were having the debate about a Catholic President and whether or not he’ll uphold the Constitution. Now it’s all about protecting public servant’s “Strongly held religious beliefs” over the actual governable rights of people living in this country. Your religious beliefs are private

If Westbrook didn’t do or say anything, this fan would more than likely be back to harass more players with racially tinged insults. Which is against most venues and the league’s code of conduct policy. So will Westbrook be fined? Maybe maybe not. But as a fan, you still have a responsibility to not let your shit

So, when is he going to talk about the NAHL incident in Quebec?

Themyscira’s shield has always been a problem, though. I just say that the gods were able to create the paradise as it’s own place in space, but the shield gets penetrated by people who don’t actually want to look for the island. Hence the issue with some of WW’s villains being unable to find Themyscira but people

The congressional baseball field incident was condemned for days on end by tons of people on both sides. My point - the one that you keep missing - is that we’re often told that the ones who’re our greatest threats to national security are those coming from south of the border, yet it seems like most of our security

And yet the only supposed threat that is being barked about by those in charge is the border. That’s the point. We’re being told that the biggest threat to our national security is our southern border. Hell, people think crime is up because of immigrants, but that is statistically not true. Yet, there are crickets

Yet we’re more worried about the border. The call is coming from inside the house, people.

I invoke Godwin’s Law. Also, this is beyond dumb.

Overall Queens, probably. But LIC residents did not want it there. I live in Queens and worked in LIC while this was going on. Community members did not want the company there because its affects could price them out of their own homes. This area is close to Astoria, which very recently fought to keep Target from

That’s also true. But there’s also no guarantee that Amazon’s presence in LIC will help development. There are couple of big companies there (Jet Blue and Citi) and outside of the area they preside in, there’s nothing. Small businesses start and fail all the time there, mostly because it can be tough to get to, and

That works too. But in this case, its the action that’s suitable. I bet they still secretly abhor the mistress, too.

I was never positive about my body, not when I was a rail thin hockey player, or now that I am bigger. These ads just make me sad. Do I want to be skinnier? Yes. But that has more to do with my remembering that it came with me participating in my favorite sport, a sport that has gotten too expensive for me to do, than

Interesting how the shield of military service (or in this case the parent of a dead military person) only extends to those people that are acceptable. Being a brown Muslim completely wipes out any potential for the untouchable nature of military service members and their families.
